It is the responsibility of the owner to ensure that all users of this treadmill are adequately informed of all warnings and precautions.
4 20. Use the included dumbbells only as de- scribed in this manual. Properly store the dumbbells in the dumbbell holders on the c onsole when you are not using them. If the dumbbells are improperly stored, they may fall off the console, causing the user to trip.

6 ASSEMBL Y Assembly requires two persons. Set the treadmill in a cleared area and remove all packing materials. Do not dispose of the packing materials until assembly is completed. N ote : T he u nde rsid e o f t he t rea dmi ll w alk ing bel t i s coated with high-performance lubricant.
7 4. With the help of a second person, carefully raise the Uprights (84) to a vertical position. Insert the Handrails (20) into the tubes at the top of the Upright (84). Make sure that the Handrails are turned so that the Handrail Bolts (64) can be threaded into the Handrails (see the inset drawing).
8 If you purchase the optional chest pulse sensor (see page 17), follow the steps below to install the receiver inclu ded with the chest pulse sensor. 1. Make sure that the power cord is unplugged. Remove the indicated Screw (2) and the Access Door (76) from the back side of the Console Base (85).
9 OPERA TION AND ADJUSTMENT T HE PRE-LUBRICATED WALKING BELT Your treadmill features a walking belt coated with high- performance lubricant. IMPORTANT: Never apply sil- icone spray or other substances to the walking belt or the walking platform. Such substances will deteriorate the walking belt and cause excessive wear.
10 FEATURES OF THE CONSOLE The treadmill console offers a selection of features de- signed to make your workouts more effective. When you select the manual mode of the console, you can c hang e the spe ed and incline of the treadmill with the t ouch of a button.
1 1 HOW TO TURN ON THE POWER I MPORTANT: If the treadmill has been exposed to cold temperatures, allow it to warm to room tem- p erature before turning on the power. If you do not do this, the console displays or other electrical components may become damaged.
12 If one of the num be red buttons is pressed, the walk- ing belt will gradually change speed until it reaches t he selected speed setting. T o stop the walking belt, press the Stop button.
13 7. Measure your heart rate if desired. N ote: If you use the handgrip pulse sensor and the optional chest pulse sensor at the same t ime, the console will not display your heart rate accurately. Before using the handgrip pulse sensor, remove the sheets of clear plastic from the metal con- tacts.
14 HOW TO USE A CALORIE WORKOUT 1 . Insert the key into the console. S ee HOW TO TURN ON THE POWER on page 11. 2. Enter your weight. See step 2 on page 11. Note: Always enter your weight before using a calorie workout; the speed and incline settings of the workout will depend on the weight setting that you enter.
15 5. Follow your progress with the display. S ee step 6 on page 12. 6 . Measure your heart rate if desired. See step 7 on page 13. 7. Turn on the fan if desired. See step 8 on page 13. 8. When you are finished exercising, remove the key from the console.

17 THE INFORMATION MODE T he console features an information mode that keeps track of treadmill usage information. The information m ode also allows you to select miles or kilometers as the unit of measurement, to adjust the contrast of the display, and to turn on and turn off the demo mode.
18 HOW T O FOLD AND MOVE THE TREADMILL HOW TO FOLD THE TREADMILL FOR STORAGE B efore folding the treadmill, adjust the incline to the lowest position. If you do not do this, the treadmill may be per- manently damaged. Remove the key and unplug the power cord.
19 TROUBLESHOOTING Most treadmill problems can be solved by following the simple steps below. Find the symptom that applies, and follow the steps listed. If further assistance is needed, call the telephone number on the f ront cover of the manual. PROBLEM: The power does not turn on SOLUTION: a.
20 PROBLEM: The incline of the treadmill does not change correctly S OLUTION: a . With the key in the console, press one of the Incline buttons. W hile the incline is changing, re- move the key. After a few seconds, re-insert the key. The treadmill will automatically rise to the m aximum incline level and then return to the minimum level.
