7 Unpacking Open shipping con tainer and ch eck f or sh ippin g damage. Report any dam age i mm ediately to your distributor and shipping age n t. Do not discard any shipping material unti l t h e D isc Sander i s installed and running properly .
8 Grounding Instructions Electr ical conn ectio n s m u st be made by a q u ali fied electri cian in complia n ce with all relevant codes. This machine mu st be proper ly grounded to h elp pre vent electrical sh ock and possible fa tal injury. This machi n e m u st be gro un ded.
9 On-Off S witch P adl ock The sander is equipped wit h a p ush-button s witc h th at will accept a s af ety padlo ck (n ot inclu ded). See Figure 5. To safeguard your m ach ine from unauthorized operatio n a nd accidental start in g by young children, the u se of a padl ock is highly recomm en ded.
10 Replacing A b r asive D isc The DS20 accepts sta n dard 20” d iameter clot h or paper-back sanding discs. W e reco mmend 60 grit f or coars e or rough sandi n g, 80 gr i t f or general purpose medium duty sa nding, and 100 gri t f or f ine sa nd ing .
