This s hould allow the pin to be near t he correc t position. 5. S lide guide bar on bar bolts until guide bar s tops agains t clutc h d rum s prock et.
8 3 . Us ing bar tool, roll c hain around guid e bar to ensure all links are in b ar groove. 4. Lif t up tip of guide bar to chec k for sag. Releas e tip of guide bar , then turn ad- just ing sc rew 1 / 4 turn c lock wise. Repeat until s ag does not ex ist.
9 THROTTLE LOCK- - OUT The THROTTLE LOC K- - OUT mu st be pres sed befor e you c an squeez e the throttle trigger. This featur e prevents y ou from acc i- dentally s queezing t he trigger .

IMPORT ANT POINT S T O REMEMBER When pulling the s tarter rope, do not us e the full ex tent of the rope as this c an caus e the rope to br ea k .
11 S If the brak e is alr eady activ ated, it is disengaged by pulling the front hand guard back toward the fr ont handle as far as poss ible. S When cut ting with the s aw , the chain brake must be dis engaged. Enga ged Diseng aged Braki ng functi on cont rol CAUTION: The chain br ake must be chec ked s everal times daily.
12 FELLI NG LARG E TREES (6 inc hes (15 c m) in diameter or lar ger) The notc h method is us ed to fell large trees . A notc h is c ut on the side of the tree in the de- sir ed direction of fall. Af ter a felling c ut is made on the opposite s ide of tree, the tree will tend to fall into the notc h.
13 WAR N I NG : Nev er turn s aw upside down to under cut. The s aw cannot be c on- trolled in this position. Alway s mak e your fir st c ut on the compr es- sion side of the log. The compr ession side of the log is where the pres sure of the log’s weight is concentr ated.
14 PRUNING WAR N I NG : Limit pr uning t o limbs s houlder height or below . Do not c ut if branc hes are higher t han your s houlder . G et a profes sion al to do the job. S Make y our fir st c ut 1/3 of the way through the bottom of t he limb. S Ne xt m ake a 2 nd cu t all the way through the limb.
15 S Clean t he oil holes and bar groov e after each 5 hours of operation. Remo ve Sawdust From Guide B ar Groov e Oil H oles S Burring of guide bar rail s is a normal proc ess of r ail wear . R emove thes e burrs with a flat file. S When rail top is unev en, use a flat file to re- stor e square edges and sides .
16 6 . Reins tall spa rk arr esting sc reen, ex haust outlet c over, and nut. Tighten nut s ecur ely . REPLACE SP ARK PLUG The spar k plug s hould be replaced each year to ensur e the engine s tarts eas ier and runs better . Ignition timing is fix ed and non- adjust able.
17 HE LPFU L TIP During s torage of y our gas/ oil mixtur e, the oil w ill sepa - rate from t he gas. We recommend that y ou shak e the gas c an weekly to ins ure proper blending of the gas and oil. ENGINE S Remov e spark plug and pour 1 teas poon of 4 0: 1, 2-cycl e engine oil (air c ooled) through the s park plug opening.
