8 CHECK TIRE PRESSURE The tires on your tr actor were ov er infl ated at the f actor y f or shipping pur poses . Correct tire pressure is impor tant f or best cutting perf or mance . • Reduce tire pressure to PSI shown in “PRODUCT SPEC I FI CA TIONS” section of this man ual.

11 OPERA TION The operation of any tractor can result in f oreign objects thro wn into the eyes, which can result in severe e ye dam age . Alwa ys wear safety glass es or eye shields while operating y our tractor or per form ing any adjustments or repairs.
12 OPERA TION T O OPERA TE MO WER (See Fig. 8) Y our tractor is equipped with an operator presence sensing s witch. Any attempt b y the operator to lea ve the seat with the engine running and the attachment clutch engaged will shut off the engine.
13 T O OPERA TE ON HILLS W ARNING: Do not drive up or down hills with slopes greater than 15° and do not drive across an y slope . • Choose the slowest speed bef ore star ting up or down hills.
14 OPERA TION PURGE TRANSMISSION CA UTION: Never engage or disengage freewheel le ver while the engine is run- ning. T o ensure proper operation and performance, it is rec om - mend ed that the transmission be purged bef ore operating tractor f or the fi rst time.

18 MAINTENANCE TRANSAXLE COOLING The transmission f an and cooling fi ns should be kept clean to assure proper cooling. Do not attempt to clean f an or transmission while engine is running or while the transmission is hot. T o pre vent pos- si ble damage to seals , do not use high pressure water or steam to clean transaxle.
19 CLEAN AIR SCREEN Air screen must be k ept free of dir t and chaff to pre v ent engine dam age from ov erheating. Clean with a wire brush or compressed air to re mov e dir t and stubborn dried gum fi bers. • Unlock drain valv e b y pushing inw ard and tur ning coun ter clock wise.
