NOTE: T he chain is tensioned correctly when the w eight of the c hain doe s not cau se it to s ag below the guide bar ( with the c hain saw s itting in a n upright position) , but the chain still mov es freely ar ound the guide bar.

10 IMPORT AN T POINTS TO REMEMBER When pulling the s tarter rope, do not us e the full ex tent of the rope as this c an c ause the rope to br ea k . D o not let s tarter r ope snap back .
11 Braki ng funct ion cont rol CAUTION: The chain br ake must be chec ked s everal times daily. The engine must be r unning when perfor ming this proc e- dure. This is the only inst ance when the s aw should be plac ed on the ground with the en- gine running.

16 REPLACE SP ARK PLUG The spar k plug should be replaced each year to ens ure the engine starts eas ier and runs better. Ignition timing is fix ed and non- adjust able. NOTE: This s park ignition sy st em compli es with t he Canadian s tandard I CES - - 002.

ENGINE S Remov e spark plug and pour 1 t easpoon of 4 0: 1, 2-cycl e engine oil (air c ooled) through the s park plug opening.
