5 Right Hand Left Hand S Position your left hand on the front handlebar so it is in a straight line with your right hand on the rear handle when making bucking cuts. Stand slightly to the left side of the saw to keep your body from being in a direct line with the cutting chain.

8 GUIDE BAR AND CHAIN OIL The bar and chain requi re lubri cati on. The chain oil er provi des lubricat ion t o the chain and gui de bar . Be sur e to fi ll t he bar oil tank before each cutting sessi on. Lack of oil will quickl y ruin the bar and chain.
9 FELLING LARGE TREES (6 inches i n diameter or l arger) The notch method is used to fell large trees. A notch i s cut on the side of the t ree in the des ired directio n of fall. After a felling cut is made on the opposit e side of t ree, the tree w ill tend to fall in the direc tion of the notch.
