9 English Indicators The computer has three easy-to-read status icons on the upper-right above the keyboard, and four indicators at the front panel. The power, battery, and wireless communication sta tu s indicators are visible eve n when t he LCD displ ay is clo sed.
10 English Launch keys Located at the upper-right above the keyboard are four buttons. These buttons are called launch keys. They are designated as mail, Web browser, Acer Empo wering Key " ," and one user- programmable bu tton. Press the Empowering Key " " to run the Acer eManager.
11 English Touchpad The built-in touchpad is a pointing de vice that sen ses movement on its surface. This means the cursor respon ds as you move your finger on the surface of the touchpad. The central lo cation on the palmrest provides optimum comfort and support.
12 English Note: Keep your fingers dry and clean wh en using the touchpad. Also keep the touchpad dry and clean. The tou chpad is sensitive to finger movement, hence, the lighter the touch, the better the response. Tapping harder will not increase th e touchpad's responsiveness.
13 English Using the keyboard The keyboard has full-sized keys and an embedded keypad, separate cursor keys, two Wi ndows keys and twelve func tion keys . Lock keys and embedded numeric keypad The keyboard has three lock keys which you can togg le on and off.

20 English Launch Manager Launch Manager allows you to set the four launch keys located above the keyboard. "Launch keys" on page 10 for the location of the launch ke ys. You can access the Laun ch Manager by clic king on Start , All Programs , and then Launch Manager to start the application.
21 English Frequently asked questions The following is a list of possible situations th at may arise during the use of your compute r. Easy answe rs and solutions ar e provided for each one. I pressed the power button and opened the display, but the computer does not start or boot-up.
22 English Image is not full-screen. Each computer display has a differen t na tive resoluti on depending on the size of the screen. If you set th e resolution lowe r than this native resoution, the screen expands to fill the computer display.
