Y our new tiller has been assembled at the f actor y with exception of those par ts left unassembled f or shipping pur poses.

8 T O TRANSPORT CA UTION: Bef ore lifting or trans por t ing, allow tiller engine and m uffl er to cool. Disconnect spark plug wire. Drain gasoline from fuel tank. AROUND THE Y ARD • Tip depth stake f orward until it is held b y the stake spring. • Push tiller handles down, raising tines off the g round.
9 e ng in e_a rt_ 7 1 BREAKING IN Y OUR TILLER Break-in your belt(s), pulle ys and tine control bef ore you actually begin tilling. • Star t engine, tip tines off ground b y pressing handles down and engage tine control to star t tine rotation. Allow tines to rotate f or fi v e minutes.

12 TILLER T O ADJUST HANDLE HEIGHT (See Fig. 15) F actor y assembly has provided lo west handle height. Se lect handle height best suited f or your tilling conditions . Handle height will be diff erent when tiller digs into soil. • If a higher handle height is desired, loosen the four nuts securing handle panel to engine brack ets.

15 ST ORA GE ENGINE OIL Drain oil (with engine warm) and replace with clean oil. (See “ENGINE” in the Maintenance section of this man ual). CYLINDER(S) • Remov e spark plug. • P our 1 ounce (29 ml) of oil through spark plug hole into cylinder .
