2 SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS GROUNDING INSTRUCTIONS This tool should be grounded while in use to pr otect the operator from electric shock. The tool is equipped with an approved thr ee-conductor cord and three-pr ong grounding type plug to fit the pr oper grounding type receptacle.

8 USE OF LUBRICANTS NEVER USE LIQUID COOLANT WITH YOUR BAND SAW . Damage to the blade guide bearings or rubber tires on the pulleys may r esult. Porter -Cable’ s “Lube W ax” is available as an accessory and is recommended when cutting aluminum, brass and thick materials.
9 OPERA TION HOW TO USE A PORT ABLE BAND SA W 1. V erify material to be cut is firmly held to prevent movement. 2. Set T wo-Speed switch to desir ed position. Speed CAN be changed while machine is running. 3. Hold the saw as shown in Fig. 5, with the work stop (A) contacting the work and blade teeth clear of the work.
10 MAINTENANCE KEEP TOOL CLEAN Periodically blow out all air passages with dry compressed air . All plastic parts should be cleaned with a soft cloth. NEVER use solvents to clean plastic parts. They could possibly dissolve or otherwise damage the material.
