- 12 - Connections A n a l o g A u d i o C o n n e c t i o n Using your choice of analog video, S-vide o, or Component video c onnection (see p age 1 1), you also have the option to connect your DVD player to your stereo system for incredible stereo sound .
- 1 - Connections Digit al Audio Connection Using your choice of analog video, S-video, or Compo nent video connection (see page 1 1), you also have two Digital Audi o options when connecting your DVD player to your stereo system. It is widely debated which connection (Opti cal or Coaxial) gives you better performance.

- 4 - The DVR Setup Menu S e t t i n g T h e C l o c k 1. In order for the DVD-Record er to record using a programmed setting, the intern al clock must be set to the correct time. Use the Set Clock function in the Recording Setup menu to set the inte rnal clock o f the DVD-Recorder .
- 1 - The DVR Setup Menu Speaker Setup (Stereo Mode) 1. The DVD-R ecorder is 6-channel D VD-Audio capable , provided a home theater audio receiver is present. If you are not hooking up the DVD-Recorder to a hom e theater audio receiver , the 6 (5.1) audio channels will be aut omatically down-mixed for basic stereo playback.

- 3 - The DVR Setup Menu Audio Setup 1. The Audio Setup menu is dir ectly below the Dolby menu. Press ENTER to access the Audio Setup menu. The Audio Setup menu allows yo u to access the Digital Out, Dyn amic Compress , and ProLogic functions.
- 4 - DVD+R W/DVD+R Disk Recording St arting The Record ing Session 1. The qualit y of the recording to a DVD+R W/+R disc directly depends on the selection of th e recording mode. Decide on t he quality of the recording yo u want, taki ng into account the amou nt of the playback time each record ing mode requires.
- 1 - DVD+R W/DVD+R Disk Recording Quick Recording 1. Press the OP/CL button on the rem ote control to open the DVD loader. 2. Place a DVD+R W or DVD+R disk in the DVD loader, and pr ess the OP/CL button on the remote again to close i t. 3. Press the Setup button on the rem ote to call up the m aster Setup menu again .
- 2 - DVD+R W/DVD+R Disk Recording 7. The tot al number of shows that can be recor ded onto a DVD+R W/+R disc directly depe nds on the selection of the quality o f the recording. De cide on the quality of the recordin g you want, taking into account the total amount of sto rage spa ce that will be available on the DVD+RW/+R disc t o be used.
- 3 - Disk Operations Disk Mastering After y our disk has b een recorded, you may w ish to name the track s after the programs you’ve recorded , or play or delete a title. Basic Disk Options The DVD-Recorder can format, erase, fi nalize and rename a DVD+R W and DVD+R disc using t he Disc Operations menu fun ctions.
- 4 - Disk Playback This section addresses basi c playback for DVDs and CDs. Playing Back A Disc (DVD–CD) 1. Press the POWER button o n the remote contro l to turn on the DVD-R ecorder for use as a standar d DVD player . 2. Pre ss the OP/CL button on the remote control to open the DVD disk tray loader .
- 5 - Disk Playback Fast For w ard/Fast Rev erse Press the bu tton to jump forward in discrete steps of 2x, 4x, 6x, or 8x normal playing speed. The screen will display the active f a st forward sp eed (FF 2x, FF 4x, FF 6x, or FF 8x). Likewise, pressin g the button will a llow you to jump backward in discrete steps.
- 6 - Disk Playback Repeating A C hapter Or T rack (DVD–CD) DVD 1. While playing a chapter, press REPEAT . The message CHAPTER REPEAT ON appears. 2. To repeat the entire title, press REPAET again. The message TITLE REPE AT ON appears. 3. Press REPEA T again to resume normal pl ayback.
