This manual ha s been prepar ed to help you under stand the operation of your amplifier , and to pro vide information about it s design and the variety of ways it ma y be used.

W e have started from the gr ound up to prod uce a casing for our electr onics that is unrivalled in it s physical str ength and visual simplicity .
4 PLINIUS HAUTONGA Unpacking Open the box fr om the top and r emove the accessorie s from the f oam end caps. Y ou may now proceed t o lif t the unit from the box, Once the unit is r emov ed you can proceed with the r emov al of the foam end caps . These cap s are de signed to fit on the front and back of the unit f or maximum pr otection.

8 PLINIUS HAUTONGA Rear P anel F unctions This panel incorporat es all t erminals for connecting the input signals fr om your CD player , tuner , etc and the outputs to the loudspeak er s and mains supply .
9 INTEGRA TED AMPLIFIER 4. INPUT SELECTION SWITCH This switch dir ectly abov e the ‘CD XLR’ input is used to select the pair of CD input socket s r equired a s described abov e. T owards the RIGHT channel selects the CD RCA input connections , while towar ds the LEFT channel selects CD XLR input.
10 PLINIUS HAUTONGA 11. MAINS POWER CORD IEC SOCKET This connector is wher e the mains supply cable fr om your wall connects to the amplifier . Y ou will notice that a fuse holder is mounted within this connection, and it holds a mains fuse to pro vide surge and o verload prot ection for your amplifier .

14 PLINIUS HAUTONGA LOUDSPEAKER OUTPUTS The connection of your loudspeak er s to the output po sts of the Ha utonga Int egrated Amplifier must be made by an ‘instructed per son ’ with suitable r eady made loudspeaker cable s only . Connect your left loudspeaker (ie.
15 INTEGRA TED AMPLIFIER USING HT BYP ASS INPUT The Haut onga Integrat ed Amplifier feat ur es a home theatr e input to bypass the pr eamplifier stage when used in home theatre or multimedia installations . When HT Bypass is select ed, the signal will pass fr om the HT Bypass input dir ectly to the Hautonga Int egrat ed power amplifiers.
16 PLINIUS HAUTONGA W ARM-UP PERIOD Y ou will find that the Hautonga Int egrat ed Amplifier will become noticeably ‘pur er’ in sound af ter being on for a period of time . W e usually r ecommend waiting at least 2 4 hours bef or e expecting the best quality of sound repr oduction fr om your amplifier .
17 INTEGRA TED AMPLIFIER Pr od uct F eatur es REMOTE CONTROL Pro vided with your Hautonga Int egrated Amplifier is a 16 function r emot e control. T wo AA A batteries power the r emote, and the se are r eplaced by r emoving the two scr ews on the base of the r emote that hold the battery compar tment in place.
18 PLINIUS HAUTONGA IMPORT ANT : DO NOT FIT A FUSE WITH A HIGHER R A TING. In the unusual e vent that this fuse should blow , you must fir st establish the ca use of this failur e ( such as power sur ges , damaged mains cable, etc) befor e r eplacing the fuse with one of the same rating and type.

I t should not be used to operat e with any other type of appliance or equipment. Be cer tain that your loudspeak ers can handle mo st of the rated output power of this amplifier .
20 PLINIUS HAUTONGA T r ouble shooting NO SOUND FROM THE UNIT If the unit is not r eproducing a udio take the f ollowing step s: Check the source is corr ectly connected t o an appropriate input on the unit. Refer t o the Installation & Operation section on page 13 .
