8 Thi s sec tion desc ribes h ow to c onnect the base t o your des k phone . Connect the Power Plug one end of th e power suppl y into the powe r jack on the b ack of the b ase and th e other e nd into a work ing power o utlet . The Powe r On LED will be so lid white.
9 Con nect and Con figure Y our Des k Phon e There are t hree s etup opti ons for connec ting t he C S510- XD/CS520-XD to your desk phone. Sele ct o ne of the follow ing and continue.
10 Check C onfigu ration a nd Mak e a T est Call 1 If your desk phon e has a volume contro l set it to mid -ran ge. 2 L ook at the bottom panel of your base and make sure the default settings ar e correct.
11 Desk Pho ne plus H L 1 0 Lifter ( sold sep ara tel y) NOTE Fir st fol low the s teps abov e for De sk Phon e (Standard) . 1 Firmly pre ss th e handset lif ter po wer cord into the h andset lif ter jack . USE 2 While wearing your heads et, slide th e handset lif ter ar m under the hands et until t he lif ter base touche s the side of t he phone.
12 If Y ou Do Not Hear a Dial T one 1 If you do not hear a dial ton e, raise th e lifter h eight sw itch to the n ex t highe st pos ition. 2 Repeat steps 2 thr ough 5 above as nece ss ar y until you h ear a dial tone. 3 Wh en you hear a dial ton e, secure the lif ter as d esc ribed in s teps 6 thro ugh 8.

When Auto A nswer is s et to gray you c an answe r a call just by lif ting he adset f rom the b ase.
20 Place an O utg oing C all 1 Wearing your heads et, pres s the he adse t call contro l but ton. 2 Remove the handset fr om the cr adle. Y ou will hear a dial tone. NOTE This s tep will be autom atic if you in stall a lif ter or EHS cable acces sor y.
21 Heads et Headset has to be charged too often. T alk time is not as long as stated. Switch the Wideband-Narro wband audio switch to narrowband (black). T alk time performance is significantly degraded even after a full r echarge. Battery is wearing out.
