6 Ac c essor ies 1 Electronic Hookswitch Cable (EHS) Electronically takes your desk phone handset off hook. Enables remote call answer/end with your headset.

8 Thi s section de scri bes ho w to c on nect the b ase t o yo ur d esk p hone. Connec t the Power Plug one end of th e power supply into the p ower jack on the back of t he base and the ot her end into a work ing power ou tlet. T he Power On LED will be s olid white.
9 Co nnect an d Co nfig ur e Y ou r Des k Phon e Ther e are three se tup options for connec ting the CS510 / CS5 2 0 to your desk phon e. Selec t one of the following an d continue.
10 Chec k C onfi gu rati on a nd Ma k e a T est C al l 1 If your desk phon e has a volume control se t it to mid-ran ge. 2 Look at the bottom panel of your base and make sure the default settings are correct.
11 Desk P hone pl u s HL 1 0 Li fter ( sol d sepa rat ely ) NOTE First follo w the steps above for D esk Phone (Standard) . 1 Firmly pre ss the handse t lifter pow er cord into the handset lif ter jack . USE 2 While wearing yo ur headset , slide the handset lif ter arm under t he handset until th e lifter base touches th e side of the phone .
12 If Y ou Do Not Hear a Dial T one 1 If you do not he ar a dial tone, raise th e lifter heigh t switch to the ne xt highe st positi on. 2 Repeat ste ps 2 through 5 above as ne cessar y until you hear a dial tone . 3 When yo u hear a dial tone, se cure the lifter as de scribed in ste ps 6 though 8.

17 Base Ph one Button a nd S wi tc hes 1 Subscription But ton The he adset and base t hat came in the box are subscr ibed (connected) to e ach other . However, if you wish to use a n ew headset or n eed to res tore subscription to yo ur current headse t, the units c an be subscribed to e ach other by the follow ing two me thods.
18 2 Wideband/Na rrowband Aud io Switc h The CS510 / CS5 20 h as wideband audio, w hich allows spee ch to sound clearer and m ore natural. If your desk phon e is capable of wideband audio, s et the Wide band-Narrow band audio switch to yellow for wide band.
19 Pl ac e an Ou tgo in g Cal l 1 Wearing your headse t, pres s the headse t call control but ton. 2 Remove th e handset from th e cradle. Y ou will hear a dial tone. NOTE This step will b e automatic if yo u install a lif ter or EH S cable accessor y.
20 Headse t Headset has to be charged too often. T alk time is not as long as stated. Switch the Wideband-Narrowband audio switch to narrowband (black). T alk time performance is significantly degraded even after a full recharge. Battery is wearing out.
