Quick start guide 01 5 En English Chapter 1 Quick start guide Introduction This ‘Quick start guide’ shows you how to connect your speakers, TV and DVD player to this receiver, and also takes you through switching on and playing a DVD disc.
Quick start guide 01 6 En Connecting your TV and DVD player 1 Connect your DVD player to the receiver. Connect a 21-pin SCART cable (not supplied) between the AV output of your DVD player and the DVD IN AV connector of this receiver for the video and analog audio.

Getting started 05 21 En English Chapter 5 Getting started Using the Room Setup • Default setting: M (medium) / MID Before using your receiver to enjoy surround sound play- back, we recommend you spend a few minutes using the Room Setup. This is a quick and easy way to get good surround sound for your room.
Getting started 05 22 En Playing a source Here are the basic instructions for playing a source (such as a DVD disc) with your home theater system. 1 Turn on the power of the playback component (for example a DVD player), your TV and subwoofer (if you have one).

Using the tuner 07 25 En English Chapter 7 Using the tuner Finding a station The following steps show you how to tune in to FM and AM radio broadcasts using the automatic (search) and manual (step) tuning functions. If you already know the exact frequency of the station you want to listen to, see Tuning directly to a station below.

Using the tuner 07 27 En English Radio Text (RT) is messages sent by the radio station. These can be anything the broadcaster chooses—a talk radio station might give out it telephone number as RT, for example. Program Service Name (PS) is the name of the radio station.
Using the tuner 07 28 En 3 Press ENTER to search for the program type. The tuner searches through the FM stations stored in the station memories. If the tuner finds a matching program type, the tuner plays 5 seconds of the station. To listen to that station, press the ENTER button.
Using other functions 08 29 En English Chapter 8 Using other functions Selecting the input signal type The DVD , STB , DVR/TV and FRONT inputs all have both analog and digital jacks. You can select the type of signal to be used in each case. The input signal type for the current input is indicated in the display: ANA (analog), DIG (digital).
Using other functions 08 30 En Default receiver settings The table below shows the factory default settings. When you reset the system, the receiver reverts to these defaults (see Resetting the system on page 29).
