03 24 En Operating the TV with the player’s remote control When the manufacturer code for your brand of TV is set on the player’s remote control, the TV can be operated using the player’s remote control. Caution • T he setting may be restored to the default after the batteries are replaced.

29 En 04 Switching the subtitles For discs or files on which multiple subt itles are recorded, the subtitles can be swit ched during playback. Caution • T he subtitles cannot be sw itched for discs recorded by a DVD or B D recorder. Also ref er to the operating instructions for the devi ce used for recording.
04 30 En Displaying the disc information Press DISPL AY. The disc informatio n appears on the TV screen. To switch off the information display, press DISPLAY again. The informatio n display differs between durin g playback and when playback is stopped.

09 52 En Chapter 9 Additional information Cautions on use Moving the player If you need to move this unit, first remove the disc if there’s one loaded, and close the disc tray. Next, press STANDB Y/ON to switch the power to stand by, checking that the POWER OFF indication on the front panel display goes off.
53 En 09 Cleaning the pickup lens The player’s lens should not become dirty in normal use, but if for some re ason it sh ould malfunctio n due to dust or dirt, consult your nearest Pioneer authorized service center. Although lens cleaners for players are commercially av ailable, we advise against using th em since some may damage the lens.
09 54 En Troubleshooting Incorrect oper ation is often mist aken for trouble or malfuncti on. If you think that there is something wrong with this component, check th e points below. Sometimes the trou ble may lie in another component. Inspect the other components and electrical appliances being used.
