About Caller Identification (Caller ID) This product has a Caller ID with Call W aiting feature that wor ks with ser vice from your local phone service provider . Caller ID with Call W aiting lets you see who’ s calling before y ou answer the phone, even when you’ re on another call.
4 T ab le/Desk Installation 1 (Optional) Y ou can adjust how m uc h the phone tilts by pushing outward with y our thumbs on the recessed “feet. ” Push the feet out from the inside of the base, until they snap into place.
5 INST ALLA TION 6 Connect the line cord to a modular jack. 7 Connect the power cord to a standar d electrical outlet not controlled by a wall switch. NOTE: When y ou first plug in the po wer cor d, the screen displays WHICH LANGUAGE? . F ollo w the programming ste ps on page 8 after installation is complete.
6 W all Installation 1 Set the dial mode. This phone comes set for tone dialing. If you have pulse dialing ser vice, you cannot dial numbers with the phone set to tone. Set the switc h on the under side of the base to TT (touch tone) or DP (dial pulse/rotar y), depending on your ser vice.
4 Reverse the handset tab. This tab holds the handset when you hang up. Hold do wn the switc hhook, and slide the tab up and out of its slot. T urn the ta b so that the end with the “hook” is up. Then inser t the tab back into its slot. 5 Plug the power cord into the jack labeled POWER.
FEA TURE SETTINGS 8 NOTE: Y ou can exit f eatur e setup at any time by holding N f or about tw o seconds, or by lifting the handset when ther e is no incoming call. T he or der featur es appear in the menu changes after initial setup. For complete f eature setup, see pages 10 and 11.
9 Set Local Ar ea Codes Y ou can program up to f our local area codes. If for Y ou dial Enter in Step 2 All calls outside 11 digits No local area codes your ar ea code ( 1 + area code + phone n umber).
