HOME THEA TER SPEAKER SYSTEMS Speaker Placement T oda y’s multi-channel home theat er technology has ele vated the ar t of “surr ound sound” to offer the e xciting impact of the movie theat er experience in your own home. Speak er requirements and placement are critical to repr oduce these multi-media ef f ects.
Rear surround speak ers also should be placed at or slightly abov e your list ening position for the best repr oduction of surround-sound effects. Ideally , they should be f acing into y our fav orite list ening position from either side of the room, but placing them at the rear corners of the r oom facing fr ont is also recommended.
For proper polarity and, thus, ideal sys t em per formance, alw a ys connect the positive side of the cable t o the positive t erminals on your speak ers and ampli fi er and the negativ e side of the cable t o the negative terminals.
If you are using eq uipment that has only one monaural subw oof er -output jack, you ma y make the connection between this jack and the left or right low-level in put of the pow ered subw oof er .
