4 Getting to Know the Unseen Screen Before beginning the installation process, become familiar with the screen and the door on which it will be installed.
5 Understanding the Application of the Screen Is there enough Mounting Surface for the Unseen? The screen installs on the outside su r face of the door tr im (brick mold ). A minumu m of 1 1 / 1 6" ( 1 7 mm ) is requ ired. See Moun ting Sur face as indicated in d iagram .

8 Measuring the Door Opening For the width (W) , measure the dimension be t ween the right and le f t exterior trim or door f rame at bo th the top and bottom of the door wa y as indicated in the di agram. R ecord the smallest o f the t wo siz es in the bo x labeled " Width" below .
9 Choosing the Correct Bottom Rail B 3 The screen package comes with two Bottom Rail options to accommodate different congurations. Choosing the correct Bottom Rail is important, since this will determine the nal cut size of the Screen. Lo w Bot to m Rail Use the Low Bo ttom Rail in the following circumstances : 1 .
10 Sizing the Screen If the door open ing is sma ller tha n 36 " ( 91 4 mm ) wide and 80 9/1 6" ( 2, 04 7 mm ) high when usi ng the Lo w Bottom Rai l or less than 8 1 3/1 6" (2 ,062 mm ) hig h when usi ng the High Bottom Ra il , the Screen mus t be cut.
11 Cutting the T op and Bottom Rails N OT E: T op Rai l is clearly labe led with CUT and NO CUT z ones. 1 . Remo v e the End Caps from both sides o f the T op Rail . 2. Using the "Length to be Cut" dimension for T op Rail calculated on Page 1 0, carefully meas ure and mark the rail on all sides t o ensure an ev en c ut.

14 8. Loosen the screw at the t op of the Upper Housing Assembly un til the head of the screw i s slightly abo ve the T op. 9. Final ly , remo v e the blue tape, slide the In ner Handle to the cent er of the Screen Housing and tight en the screws .
15 Installing the T op Rail The top edge of the T op Rail will be mounted e xactly 5/8 " ( 16 mm ) f rom the bottom edge of the exterior top trim or door frame. 1 . Mak e a mark 5/8 " ( 16 mm ) up from t he bottom edge of the e x terior tr im or door frame.
16 Installing the Screen Housing 1 . Inser t the rollers of the Screen Housing int o T op Rail (Right side ). 2. Peel the ba cking of f the adhesiv e str ip along the back of the Side Ba r .
17 Installing the Bottom Rail 1 . Select the Bot tom Ra il (Low or High ) cho sen on P age 9, a nd remov e the adhesiv e backing. 2. While slightly l if ting the Bottom Rail Guide on the Screen Housing , inser t Bottom Rail or .
18 Installing the Bottom Rail N 4. While k eeping it tight t o the left door f rame , position the bottom rail ush with the e xteri or trim ( see above d rawing ) , and then press down rmly into place . 5. Through the predrilled holes in the Bottom Rail or , fasten t o the door sill using the Self Drilling Metal Screws provided .
19 Final Steps P Install the End Caps 1 . Loc at e the t wo E nd Caps remo ved d uring earlier installation st eps and press rmly into place on both ends o f T op Rail . Install the Latch 1 . Position Lat ch to the left inner edge of the e xter ior trim or door frame, 4" ( 1 00 mm ) below the center of the frame.
20 Final Steps Installing the Handle 1 . Remo v e the backing on the adhesiv e strip from the back side of the Handle . 2. Adhere the Handle on to the Sc reen Housing a t the center of the door opening. 3. Remo v e the backing on the adhesiv e strip from the Handle Grip .
