The T ransmitter is located at the exact center of the Pet Area. Place the T ransmitter: • At least 2 feet above the floor located on the gr ound floor of your home.

Always start determining the Boundary Zone at the shortest distance from T ransmitter . Place the Boundary Switch on “Low” if the Boundary Zone will be less than 45 feet from the T ransmitter .

www .petsafe.net 11 Fit the Receiver Collar Important: The proper fit and placement of your Receiver Collar is important for ef fective training. The Contact Points must have direct contact with your pet’ s skin on the underside of his neck. Please read and follow the instructions in this manual.
12 1-800-732-2677 T o Re-Thread the Collar Slide Buckle Ridges The slide buckle prevents the collar fr om becoming loose around your pet’ s neck. The ridges must be facing up; the collar will slip if it is not properly thr eaded.
www .petsafe.net 13 Day 1 - Boundary A war eness T one Only T raining Mode Perform three sessions on day 1, each training session lasting 10-15 minutes. Goal: T o have your pet learn that the Boundary Flags and warning beep from the Receiver Collar define the new Pet Area.

Goal: T o train your pet to stay in the Pet Area and r espect the boundary . Setup: • Program the Static Corr ection Level on the Receiver Collar to Level 2.
www .petsafe.net 15 Days 9 thru 14 - Unleashed Supervision T raining sessions should start at 10-15 minutes, gradually increasing to over an hour . Y our pet is ready for this step only when he clearly avoids the entir e Boundary Zone, regar dless of any distractions or temptations.

Follow the set-up pr ocedures (steps 1 through 4) wher ever you wish to have containment of your pet. Reestablish the Pet Area and mark it with Boundary Flags so your pet knows his Boundary Zone.

18 1-800-732-2677 T r oubleshooting The Receiver Collar is not beeping when setting up the Boundary Zone. • The tone may be difficult to hear in a noisy environment. • Use T est Light as explained in the “T est Light Instructions” section, and use it to determine the location of Boundary Zone.
www .petsafe.net 19 The Receiver Collar is beeping but my pet is not responding to the Static Correction. • Make sure the Static Correction Level is set at 2 or above. • T est the Receiver Collar with the T est Light. • If the T est Light flashes, check the fit of the Receiver Collar .
20 1-800-732-2677 Re-synchr onize the System 1. Remove the Receiver Collar from your pet. 2. Remove the battery from the Receiver Collar . Discharge all power by holding the corr ection level button down until the LED is no longer illuminated. 3. At the transmitter , move the Boundary Switch from the low to the high position.
