BEFORE YOU BEGIN 1 About Handset Registration • Y ou must register this (and any other) handset with the base, follo wing the directions in “REGISTER THE HANDSET . ” This handset is compatible with telephone model 2462. • The original handset that came with the base is automatically registered as Handset 1.
CHARGE THE BA TTERY 2 1 Install the handset battery pack. Use only the battery supplied with this handset or A T&T Accessor y Batter y Model 2401, SKU#91077. • When you install the battery pack the fir st time, the handset will display ENTER BASE ID .
REGISTER THE HANDSET 1 Make sure to charg e the handset batter y pack at least 12 hour s. 2 At the 2462 corded base, press . 3 Use or to select DISPLAY BASE-ID . 4 Press . The base screen will displa y the 15-digit Base ID code for about 30 seconds, then return to the idle screen.
INST ALLA TION 4 Belt Clip Attach the belt c lip (optional) . Headset Y ou can use this telephone hands-free when you install any industry standard 2.5 mm headset (purc hased separatel y). For best results, use an A T&T 2.5 mm headset. Plug the headset into the jack located on the left side of the handset (under the small rubber f lap).
5 Batter y Life Batter y life depends on how f ar the handset is from the base, and other environmental conditions. NOTE: F or optimum perf ormance, charg e your cor dless handset in the handset charg er every night. Charge the Handset Batter y Pack • This batter y should remain charg ed for up to five da ys.
