Set Dial Mode This telephone comes set for touc h tone dialing. Use the Dial Mode switc h on the bottom of the phone to select TT (touch tone) or DP (dial pulse), depending on y our ser vice.
W all Installation 1 Remove the base. Slide the base sidewa ys as shown by the REMO VE ar row (Figur e 1). 2 Connect the short line cord to the telephone. Plug the five inc h line cord into the LINE jack in the center of the bottom of the set. 3 Reinstall the base.
Redial This telephone alwa ys stores in memor y the last number manually dialed (up to 24 digits). The number remains in memory until you dial another number . T o dial the last number called from this phone, lift the handset and press R . Flash The F button is useful if you subscribe to custom-calling ser vices from your local telephone company .

P ow er F ailure Reco v er y If the system is disconnected from AC power , the answ ering system will not operate, but you will still be able to make and receive calls. Y our announcement and messages are r etained in memor y dur ing a power f ailure, but you will need to r eset the clock when po wer is restored.
Setting the Clock Y ou’ ll need to set the clock so that it can announce the day and time that eac h message is receiv ed. Press P to e xit Setting the Clock at an y time. 1 Press and hold C until the Message Window displa ys C , and the default da y is announced.
T ur ning the System On/Off Use O to turn the system on or of f. When the system is off, the Message Windo w is blank. V olume Control Use VOLUME buttons ( + and - ) to adjust the volume of the system’ s speaker . Press the top button ( + ) to increase volume.
Remote Access Code Y ou can use many f eatures of this answ ering system remotely from a touc h tone phone. Most featur es can be accessed only after y ou enter a Remote Access Code, which is preset to 123. Y ou can review the Remote Access Code by pressing and releasing S .
Deleting Messages Delete All messages Hold down D . The system announces “ Messag es deleted ” and permanently deletes messages. The Messa ge Window displays 0 . If you haven’t listened to all of the messages, the system beeps five times, and does not delete messages.
Connect with the Answ ering System 1 Dial your telephone number fr om a touch tone phone with a differ ent telephone number . 2 When the system answ ers, enter your three-digit Access Code during or after the announcement. The system announces the number of messages, then beeps twice.
Changing Remote Access Code 1 Press 9 9 . The system announces “ Enter new code. ” 2 Enter your ne w Remote Access Code (any number betw een 100 and 999). 3 If a valid code is entered, the system announces the new Remote Access Code. If an invalid code is entered, the system beeps five times r apidly , then beeps twice.
