N ote: ese instructions may be used for Square Design P ella Bay and Bow windo ws that have a head and seat board.
A. Remo v e all packaging from the window . B. REPLA CEMENT APPLICA TIONS: Remo ve the existing, window , trim, insulation and sealant from the opening. 1 ROUGH OPENING PREP ARA TION C. NEW C ONSTR UCTION APPLICA TIONS: C ut the water resistive barrier .

2 PREP ARING AND SETTING THE WINDOW A. Install exterior jamb co v ers. Apply sealant along the leg of the jamb frame co ver(s). Apply a bead of sealant to the top corner of the bottom frame expander . Drive the short leg of the jamb frame cover into the accessory groov e using a block of wood with rounded edges and a hammer .
B. I nsert the window from the exterior of the building. Place the seat of the windo w at the bottom of the opening and slide the top into position. Center the window between the sides of the opening to allow clearance for shimming.
CROSS BRA CING MOUNT OF CABLE CL AMPS A. Install 2" x 6" cross braces between rafter tails, dir ectly abov e the cable holes in the bay/bow head board. B. I nstall the cable clamps directly abo ve the "T" nuts where adequate support is available.
3 CABLE CLAMP INST ALLA TION (CONTINUED) A. T ighten the top hex nut on both cable ends. U sing a 3/16" wrench or socket, hold the cable end in position while tightening the top hex nut with a 1/2" wrench or socket. is will keep the cable from twisting as the hex nuts are tightened.
5 INSULA TING FOAM APPLICA TION Caution: Ensur e use of low pressur e polyurethane windo w and door insulating foams and strictly follow the foam manufactur er ’s recommendations for application. U se of high pressur e foams or improper application of the foam may cause the window frame to bow and hinder operation.
N ote: e sealant details shown ar e standard r ecommendations from the sealant industr y. Contact your sealant supplier for r ecommendations and instructions for these and any other applications.
A. Install wood blocking between the top of the window and the sot as sho wn. e blocking should be ush with the exterior of the window frame. B. A pply a bead of sealant on the leg of the head frame expander and install by tapping on it using a block of wood with rounded edges and a hammer .
L. Insert backer rod and apply sealant . I nstall siding, and insert backer rod between the each jamb cover and the exterior nish material as deep as it will go . Apply a bead of high quality exterior sealant on top of the backer rod and a corner bead to the top of the head frame expander .
INTERIOR FINISHING If products cannot be nished immediately , cover with clear plastic to pr otect from dirt, damage and moisture. Remo ve any construction residue before nishing. S and all wood surfaces lightly with 180 grit or ner sandpaper .
