YOU WILL NEED T O SUPPL Y : T OOLS REQUIRED: • Cedar or Impervious shims/spacers (12 to 20) • 2" galvanized roong nails (1/4 lb .) • Closed cell foam backer rod/sealant backer (12 to 30 ft.
E. Apply sill ashing tape #1 . C ut a piece of ashing tape 12" longer than the opening width. Apply at the bottom of the opening as shown (1E) so it o verhangs 1" to the exterior . N ote: e tape is cut 12" longer than the width so that it will extend 6" up each side of the opening.
Interior 2F 2F F. Plumb and square windo w . Place shims 1" from the bottom and top of the window between the window and the sides of the opening. Adjust the shims as required to plumb and squar e the window in the opening. If the frame height exceeds 53", place shims at the midpoint of the window sides.

M ake sure the measurement fr om the interior face of the window to the interior face of the wall is equal at several points around the window . N ote: If the dimensions are not equal, check to make sur e the ns ar e folded out to 90° at all points.

C ut pieces of ashing tape at least 1" longer than the diagonal cuts in the water resistive barrier . Apply the tape co vering the entire diagonal cut in the water resistive barrier at both upper corners of the window .

Caution: Ensur e use of low pr essur e polyurethane windo w and door insulating foams and strictly follow the foam manufactur er ’ s r ecommendations for application. Use of high pr essur e foams or improper application of the foam may cause the window frame to bow and hinder oper ation.
A. Insert backer rod into the space around the windo w approximately 3/8" deep . is should provide at least a 3/8" clearance between the backer rod and the exterior face of the window . N ote: Backer rod adds shape and depth for the sealant line.
INTERIOR FINISHING If products cannot be nished immediately , co ver with clear plastic to protect from dirt, damage and moisture. Remo ve any construction residue before nishing. S and all wood surfaces lightly with 180 grit or ner sandpaper .
INST ALLING ROTO COVER AND CRANK N ote: Finish the interior of the windo w and allow the window to dry before proceeding with these instructions. (T o open the window for nishing, partially insert the lock handle into the jamb, unlock the unit, temporarily attach the crank handle and turn to open.
