These instructions wer e tested and developed for replacing windows in wood-frame wall construction systems designed to manage moisture. This method of installation involves r emoving the sash, fr ame stops and frame har dware fr om the existing window .
1 REMOVE THE EXISTING SASH Note: Remove the new window from its packaging. Inspect and measure the new window to confirm it will fit into the opening prior to removing the existing window . The window needs to be 3/8" smaller in both width and height than the pocket frame, i.
3 WINDOW PREP ARA TION (A WNING and CASEMENT ONL Y) The interior frame covers must be r emoved to provide access to the pre-drilled frame scr ew installation holes. CAUTION: T o Avoid Interior F rame Cover Break age - Car efully read and understand the following steps before pr oceeding with cover removal.
B1 B2 Spline hole B. Remove Interior F rame Cover #1. IfanInteriorF rameCoverhasa"QuickReleaseBand" around the cover , pull the band to help r emove the cover . The cover on vent units wher e the lock handle slot is located and the cover on the opposite frame side.
C2 C3 C. R emove Interior F rame Cover #2. The cover on vent units wher e the crank handle and roto-cover will be loca ted. F orStandardAwning, singleunitsgreaterthan42"inheightandmultiplewindow combinations.
Note: P osition shims to ensure they allow at le ast 1/2" from the exterior surface of the window to allow for placement of backer rod and sealant. 4 SETTING AND F ASTENING THE WINDOW AWNING/CASEMENT A. Insert the window and center it in the opening to allow clearance for shimming.

Note: It may be necessary to squeeze the end of the tube with pliers to be able to insert into the space between the window frame and the r ough opening.
