REMEMBER T O USE APPR OPRIA TE PERSONAL PR O TECTIVE EQUIPMENT . 1 ROUGH OPENING PREP ARA TION A. V erify the opening is plumb and lev el. N ote: It is critical that the bottom is level. B. V erify the window will fit the opening. Measur e all four sides of the opening to make sure it is 1/2" larger than the window in both width and height.
2 PREP ARE THE WINDOW A. Remo v e plastic wrap and cardboar d packaging from windo w . DO NO T cut the checkrail bands or remov e plastic shipping spacers located between the window sash and frame. The shipping spacers will help keep the window square during installation.
4 INST ALLA TION CLIP METHOD A. F asten the window to the opening BYDRIVINGTWOXCORR OSION resistant screws into the pre-punched holes in the clips. I f clips are bent and fastened to the interior stud/block, install the screws as close to the bend as possible.
5 FRAME SCREW METHOD 5B A. Mark the location of the top of the lo wer sash on the rough opening. N ote: Marking this location is needed for the corr ect placement of the frame scr ews. Interior T op of lower sash 5A Finger slides are located on the top, back side of the lower sash.
6 INTEGRA TING THE WINDOW TO THE WA TER RESISTIVE BARRIER N ote: The flashing tape must be applied approximately 1/2" onto the frame cladding at the jambs and head. Pr e-folding the tape at 1/2" befor e remo ving the paper backing will make it easier to apply the tape correctly .
C. F old down top flap of water r esistive barrier (6C). D. Apply flashing tape to diagonal cuts. Cut pieces of flashing tape at least 1" longer than the diagonal cuts in the water resistive barrier . Apply the tape co vering the entire diagonal cut in the water resistive barrier at both upper corners of the window .
EXTERIOR FINISH The exterior frame and sash are protected by aluminum cladding with our tough EnduraClad ® or E nduraClad Plus baked-on factory finish that needs no painting. Clean this surface with mild soap and water . Stubborn stains and deposits may be remov ed with mineral spirits.
