Click OK and then restart the DX8100 serv er . The unit will restart and automatically log you on to the DX8100 server applicat ion.
18 C2641M-B (4/08) DX8100 SECURITY INTERNET PROTOCOL SECURITY The DX8100 f eatures built -in network security us ing Internet Protocol Se curity (IPSec). IPSec facil itates auth entication and en cryption at the network packet level. IPSec ser v ices protect the DX81 00 from unwanted or potentially damaging network request s.
C2641M-B (4/08) 19 DX8100 NETWORK PORTS T abl e B describes t he DX8100 ports and t heir functi ons. The po rts are clas sified eit her as user-changeable or fixed. Y o u can as sign a user- changeable port a diffe rent number . In th is case, a po rt’ s number must be assig ned within the range of 5 000–65535.
20 C2641M-B (4/08) PASSWORD RECOVERY There are no “backdoor ” accounts o r alternative access optio ns built int o the DX8100 application software. P elco cannot issu e o verriding passwords, factory passwords, or other mean s to bypass the logon requirement of the ap plication program.
C2641M-B (4/08) 21 DX8100 System Recovery Procedure This DX8100 recovery procedure is used in two way s: • T o reco ver your DX8 100 software u sing the DX81 00 Recovery DVD that is pro vided with the unit. • T o recover your DX8100 Series D VR in case of a cata strophic failure.
22 C2641M-B (4/08) RECORDING IP SE CURITY SETTINGS 1. Exit the DX8100 ap plication window to the Windows environment. 2. On the taskba r , cl ick Start, an d then click P rograms > Mana ge IPSec Polic y . 3. Record the st atus of Enable IP Security Policy: Checked _____ Unchecked_____.

C2641M-B (4/08) 25 h. Do one of t he following: • T o accept the EULA, click Accept. The DX8100 Re-In stall dialog box open s, displaying the Wa rning message. Go to step i. • T o Cancel the reinstallation pro cess, click Cancel. The DX81 00 restarts.

C2641M-B (4/08) 29 IMPORTING THE DX8100 DVR SETTINGS 1. Insert the USB key into the front of the unit. 2. Click Edit > Import Setu p. 3. Double-click the last drive on the list; this is your USB key . 4. Locate the backup file you previously cr eated, and then click Op en.
