C2641M-C (7/09) 9 OPERATING SYSTEM SECURITY Upon a successful boot procedure, the DX 8100 will automatically load the Microsoft ® Windows ® XP Embedded oper ating system.

C2641M-C (7/09) 14 DX8100 SECURITY INTERNET PROTOCOL SECURITY The DX8100 f eatures built -in network security us ing Internet Protocol Se curity (IPSec). IPSec facil itates auth entication and en cryption at the network packet level. IPSec ser vices protect the DX81 00 from unwanted or pote ntially damaging netw ork requests.

Y ou can as sign a user - changeable port a diffe rent number . In this case, a port’ s number mus t be assigne d within the range of 5 000–65535.

C2641M-C (7/09) 17 STARTING THE DX8100 SERVER IN SAFE MODE DX8100 version 2.0 sup ports Safe Mode. 1. Restart the DX8100 se rver . The system displays th e message “Exiting DX8100. Please wait. ..,” and then loads the BIOS (refer t o Fig ure 15). Figure 15.
