C1475M-B (8/05) 5 Hard Ceiling Installation 1. Locate the cent er point of the mounting location. D rill a hole in th e ceiling us ing a 3/32-i nch drill. In sert the comp ass too l into the hole. Use a pencil and the compass t ool to dra w a circle on t he ceiling.
6 C1475M-B (8/05) 2. Attach the conduit fitting, s afety chain br acket, and lock nut. Instal l a safety chain/cable (not suppli ed) that will support up to 16 pounds (7.3 kg). Inst all one en d of the sa fety chain/ca ble to th e safety ch ain bracket and the ot her end to a support s tructure in t he ceiling.
C1475M-B (8/05) 7 Suspended Ceiling Installation 1. Remove the ceiling tile from the ceil ing. Insert th e compass to ol (suppli ed) into the ce nter of t he tile. (If necessary , use a 3/32-inch bit to drill a hole.) NOTE: The ceilin g tile can not be thin ner than 0.
