4 C1458M-J (9/08) Description DF5 Series domes are discr eet surveillance domes that are designed for indoor or outd oor use. Models include pend ant and in-cei ling versions. In-ceiling models have plenum-rated back bo xes and can be instal led in hard ceilings or standard 2 x 2 ft (6 x 61 cm) s uspended ceilings.

6 C1458M-J (9/08) BACK BOX IN-CEILING MODELS, HARD CEILINGS 1. Locate th e center poin t of the moun ting locati on. Drill a hol e in the ceil ing using a 3/ 32-inch dril l. Insert the compass too l into the hole. Use a pencil and the compass t ool to dra w a circle on the ceiling.
C1458M-J (9/08) 7 IN-CEILING MODELS, SUSPENDED CEILING 1. Remove the ceiling tile from the ceil ing. Insert th e compass to ol (suppli ed) into the center of t he tile. (I f necessary, use a 3/32-inch bit to drill a hole.) Draw a circle on the tile using the compass tool and a pencil.

Remove th e black tilt table asse mbly inside of the back bo x by removing the nuts and washers that hold the three legs to the back box. 3. Remove th e top moun t by removin g the thre e screws and lo ck washers ins ide the b ack box.
C1458M-J (9/08) 9 CAMERA AND LENS If the camera and lens ar e already installed, begin with ste p 2. 1. If applicable, extend the lens to the ma x imum length be fore instal ling the camer a in the back box. Attach the camera to the t ilt table with the 1/4-20 scr ew , fla t washer , and lock washer (su pplied).
10 C1458M-J (9/08) LOWER DOME IN-CEILING MODELS 1. Snap the c lip on the end of the t rim ring leas h into th e hole on t he lip of th e back box. 2. Line up the snaps on the trim ring with the moun ting screws on the back box. Sn ap the trim rin g into the plastic snap washers on the mounting screws.
C1458M-J (9/08) 11 Maintenance Clean the acrylic dome as needed . Be careful not to scratch the surfaces of the dome. EXTERIOR SURFACE Clean the do me’ s exterior surface wit h a nonabr asive clean ing cloth an d agent that is safe for acrylic plastic.
