10 C1570M-C (5/06) Installation HARDWARE INSTALLATION OVERVIEW The following steps provide an overview of how to ins tall the CM9700 MDD-EVS: 1. Install all components of the matrix switching system. Refer to the ma trix system documentat ion for instruc tions.
C1570M-C (5/06) 11 PRODUCT SERIAL NUMB ER LABEL PLACEMENT Product serial number labe ls help Pelco’ s Product Support id entify your system and its factory configuration in the event that the CM9700MDD-EVS or its componen ts require ser vice. A label citing your product’ s serial number is attached to the bottom pan el of the CM9700MDD-EVS.
12 C1570M-C (5/06) MOUNTING Use one of the following in stallation meth ods for the CM 9700MDD-EVS: • Place the CM9700M DD-EVS on a flat surface, such as a shelf or desktop • Mount the CM9700MD D-EVS to a wall using the option al WM5001-4U wall mount kit • Install the CM9700MDD-EVS in the optional RK5 000PS-5U rack mo unt kit.
C1570M-C (5/06) 13 WALL MOUNT INSTALLATION The CM9700MDD-E VS can be mounted to a wall u sing the optional WM50 01-4U wall mount system. Y ou can mount up to four CM9700MDD-EVS un its, in any co mbination, in a fully expa nded WM5001-4U (one WM5001-4U wit h up to thre e WM5001-4UE XP expansion units).

16 C1570M-C (5/06) BASIC HARDWARE CONNECTIONS CM9700-CC1 CONNECTION Use the 16-pin te rminal block for the RS- 422 serial connection (Pelco P protocol) between the CM9700MDD-EVS an d the CM9700-CC1 . The termina l block has t ension clamps instead of screw terminal s.

C1570M-C (5/06) 21 AUDIO OUTPUT CONNECTION The CM9700MDD -EVS supports one audio output, which allows you to contro l a speaker or oth er audio equipmen t at the monitored lo cation. NOTE: When using mul tiple CM9700MDD -EVS units, an additional audio routing solution may be required.

Use the netw ork port on t he front pan el and a 10 0BaseT netw ork Ca t5e (or better) cable with RJ-45 conn ectors to connect the CM9 700MDD-E VS to your system networ k.
C1570M-C (5/06) 23 POWER CONNECTION The CM9700MDD -EVS offers a single four -pin power connecto r . The RK5000PS-5 U rack mount kit and the NET5 301PS attach to the fo ur -pin connector . When using a d ifferent power supply, attach power to th e enclosed four-pin to two-pin adapt er and att ach the ad apter to t he uni t.

38 C1570M-C (5/06) EXPORT THE CONFIGURATION FILES AND T R ANSFER THE DATA TO THE CM9700MDD-EVS Once you have configured the CM 9700MDD-EVS settings in the CM9700-MGR software, complete the following tasks to transfer the da ta to the matrix system c omponents: • Export the configura tion files, and then transf er these files to th e CM9700-CC1.
