DX7100 Hard Drive Replacement Instructions for the System Drive C674M (2/06) Digital Video Recorder DX7100.

C674M (2/06) 3 Introduction This manual provides instructions for replacing the primary master hard drive in a DX7100 Series DVR (digital video recorder). PARTS LIST NOTE: This replacement kit includes a Pelco-certified hard disk drive. Using any other hard disk drive with the DX7100 voids the manufacturer's warranty for the DX7100.
4 C674M (2/06) Installation T o replace the primary master hard drive: 1. T o protect the DVR and its components against electrostatic discharge, make sure that you are properly grounded so that any built-up static electric charges are dissipated away from the unit.
C674M (2/06) 5 4. Locate the hard drives in the front of the DVR (refer to Figure 2). There is one hard drive cage in the center front that can hold as many as four hard drives. There is another against the side of the chassis that can hold as many as two hard drives.
6 C674M (2/06) 5. Remove the cage that holds four hard drives: a. Disconnect the power and data cables from any hard drives that are installed in the cage. b. Remove the two screws that hold the cage in place in the chassis (refer to Figure 3). c. Disconnect the ground wire that goes to the card cage (refer to Figure 4).
C674M (2/06) 7 6. Remove the card cage that holds two hard drives (refer to Figure 5): a. Disconnect the power and data cables from the hard drives that are installed in the cage. b. Remove the three screws that hold the cage in place in the chassis. c.
8 C674M (2/06) 7. Remove the two screws on each side of the cage that hold the primary master drive in place (refer to Figure 6). Remove the hard disk drive. Figure 6. Removing the Hard Disk Drive 8. V erify that the jumper on the replacement hard drive is set for master .
C674M (2/06) 9 10. Reinstall the hard drive cages by following steps 2-7 in reverse order . Refer to Figure 8 to see how the cages are locked in place in the bottom of the chassis. Figure 8. Reinstalling the Hard Drive Cages WARNING: When you reinstall the hard drive cages, make sure that no wiring is underneath the cages.
