6 C3608M (9/07) Getting Started LOGGING ON AND OFF FROM ENDURA MAPPING Log on to and off from E ndura Mapping with one of the following metho ds. FROM THE WS5000 ADVANCED SY STEM SOFTWARE 1. From the WS5000 main screen , click the “Endura Mapp ing” button in the toolbar .

8 C3608M (9/07) Navigation T ools in Endura Mapping Endura Map ping provides several feat ures to na vigate on a map . These features are ava ilable in both Live Mode an d Edit Mode. Th e T ear -off feature is av ailable whil e viewing a map in Live Mode.

10 C3608M (9/07) Elements of a Map A map is a graphical represen tation of a physical space, such as a building o r floor plan, or a geographical locat ion, such as a city or neighborhood. A site might require one or more unrelated maps to re present its security system, or several maps might be needed that can be related hie rarchically.
C3608M (9/07 ) 11 • Scale: The scale of a map determin es the rati o of the ac tual physical space that th e map repre sents in relat ion to the map as it is vi ewed in Endura Map ping. Map sc ale is adjusted based on th e unit of measu rement (stand ard or metric) that is set for the map each tim e you zoom in or out of the map.
12 C3608M (9/07) Creating and Editing Maps T o create or edit maps, you must be lo gged on to En dura Mapping with a user ID t hat has permiss ions to edit map s. Permissions t o any functio n in an Endura system are as signed from the WS5000. Several tasks are involved in creating and editing maps from while in Edit Mode.
C3608M (9/07 ) 13 CREATING A MAP 1. If you have not already don e so, click the Edit Mode butto n in the toolbar to switch to th e Edit Mode. 2. Click the Create Map but ton to display the New Map Set tings screen. 3. Enter a name for th e map. 4. If desi red, import a back ground image f or the map.

On the New Map Settings or Edit M ap Settings screen, click the Impo rted Background op tion to include an image file for the cu rrently selected map.

C3608M (9/07 ) 21 ASSOCIATING ENDURA DEVICES WITH AN ICON 1. From the E dit Mode scre en, display t he desired icon layer on th e map. 2. In the Device Browser list, use the filter s to sort the list. Yo u can display devices by their availability (onl ine or offlin e), by type (camera, encoder , alarm, and so f orth), or by location.
22 C3608M (9/07) CREATING CUSTOM VIEWS Custom views provide a way to show or hide a subset of the icons and shap es that are included on a map. A vie w can display as m any icon layers and shape la yers as necessa ry , and it can show or hide the back ground image.

Click the Edit Application Setti ngs button to display the Edit Application Settings scre en. Use this screen to edit settings th at affect everyone who uses En dura Mapping.

Th is task works best when you want to send video from a single camera to an externa l monitor .
