C2944M-F (1/09) 9 Installation LENS MOUNTING The C10DN Series camera suppo rts both manual and a uto iris lenses, eit her fixed focal len gth or varifocal. It also supports bot h DC and video drive lenses. It automatically se nses an auto iris lens a s soon as you plug in the connector .
10 C2944M-F (1/09) CAMERA MOUNTING The C10DN Serie s camera can be mounted f rom either the top or bottom, depending on the type of camera mount u sed in your instal lation. Use a standard 1 /4-20 screw . The maximum thr ead depth (top) is 0.1 88 inches (4.
C2944M-F (1/09) 11 CONNECTING POWER The C10DN-6 and C1 0DN-6X are designed to ope rate from either a 12 VDC or a 24 VA C power source. The camera auto matically senses power type. Use only a Class 2 isolated power source t hat can supply 12 VDC ±15% or 24 V AC ±15%, 50/60 Hz.
12 C2944M-F (1/09) CONNECTING AC POWER The C10DN Series camer a requires a power supply of 24 VAC ±15% 20.4–27.6 V AC, 50/60Hz. Make su re the power supply has a minimum rati ng of 270 mA.
C2944M-F (1/09) 13 CONNECTING DC POWER The C10DN Series camera requir es a power supply of 12 VDC ±15% 10.2–13.8 VDC. Make sure the power sup ply has a minimum rating o f 390 mA. T o co nnect DC power ref er to Figure 5, and then complete the f ollowing steps: 1.
14 C2944M-F (1/09) CONNECTING DAY/NIGHT FILTER CONTROL In some installations, high in frared (IR) illuminati on or other light sources may interfere with th e camera’ s automatic day/nig ht mode operation. Use an externa l day/night filter swit ch, such as a photos ensor , to k eep the camera from co nstantly switching filt ers.

16 C2944M-F (1/09) Setup Menus The C10DN Series camera uses s etup menus instead of hardware switches fo r configuring the ca mera. As a result, yo u have more op tions for customizing the camera for its specific application. NOTE: After you cust omize any aspect of t he C10DN Series camera , be sure to save your custom settings.

18 C2944M-F (1/09) PROFILES Use this opt ion to select a profi le or save custom setti ngs. Use profiles fo r faster installatio n or to adjust came ra settings quickly fo r changing light cond itions. The defaul t setting is DA Y&NIGHT . The C10DN Series camera offers three predefin ed profiles and one custom, or user -defin able, profile.
C2944M-F (1/09) 19 EXPOSURE SETTINGS Select this option to config ure the exposure settings for th e C10DN Series camera. AUTO EXPOSURE The automat ic exposure feature automatically adjust s the electronic sh utter and mechanical iris to set the correct exposu re.
20 C2944M-F (1/09) DC IRIS LEVEL Select this opt ion to adjust the electr onic properties of the DC dr ive auto iris lens to the au to iris electronic prop erties of the c amera. Perform this procedure be fore using the camera or each time you change the lens.
C2944M-F (1/09) 21 DETECT T IME The camera regular ly checks the brightness level. When th e brig htness level crosses th e switch thre shold and lasts longer than the D&N DETECTION setting, the ca mera switches the filter .
22 C2944M-F (1/09) WHITE BALANCE The C10DN Se ries camera offers three white balance options. White balan ce settings define how the camera proc esses video images to render true colors in a scene. White ba lance is especially effective in scenes wi th changing color temperatures.
C2944M-F (1/09) 23 MASKING Masking lets you bl ock certain areas of a came ra scene. A maximum of eight masks can be defi ned. NOTE: If you add a ninth mask, the camer a erases the first mask. Y ou cannot configur e more than eight masks. MASK: Use this option to enable or disab le masking; the default setting is OFF .
24 C2944M-F (1/09) SAVE AS CUSTOM Select this o ption to create and save a custom profil e. Whenever you op en and make changes to the EXPOSURE SET and FUNCTI ON SET menus, the camera stores the setti ngs. These setting can be save d as a custom profile.
C2944M-F (1/09) 25 Lens Focusing After mounting the lens, you must focus your C10D N Series camera. Y ou will ad just both the back focus (on th e camera) and the f ine focus (on the lens). NOTE: The back fo cus has already been a djusted using a stand ard CS-mount lens.

C2944M-F (1/09) 27 Camera Synchronization Camera synchr onization may affect insta llations that use two or more AC power sup plies for multiple cameras. Due to different p ower phas es, a brief ver tical roll may appear on the monitor when switching betwe en cameras.

Mixed color applications may affect the amount of colo r adjustment. For ex ample, a small white obj ect on a large blue surface may have a r eddish tint.
