CS ® 800S POWER AMPLIFIER OWNERS MANUAL Congratulations on y our purchase of the new CS ® 800S stereo power amplifier . This latest v ersion is the most advanced e v er , using state-of-the-ar t s witching power supply technology to deliv er high fidelity and roc k solid perf or mance in a two- rac k-space unit that weighs just under 23 pounds.
FRONT P ANEL DDT ™ ACTIVE LED (1) Illuminates when DDT ™ Compression is taking place. With the ENABLE/DEFEA T s witch in the DEFEA T position, the LED indicates when clipping distor tion is occurr ing. POWER LED (2) Illuminates when A C power is being supplied to the amp and the associated channel is oper ational.
IEC MAINS POWER CONNECTOR (7) The CS ® 800S is fitted with a univ ersal IEC connector . Into this connector one should alwa ys inser t a heavy duty #14 A WG 3 conductor line cord with a conv entional A C plug with a ground pin.
THE P1 OUTPUT MODULE (15) The standard output module shipped with each amplifier is called the P1 MODULE. It off ers both dual 1/4" jacks and 5-w a y binding post speaker outputs f or each channel.
THE S2 OUTPUT MODULE The S2 output module off ers dual Speakon ® Quic k Connectors and a unique patching capability to wire these connectors to meet the par ticular appli- cation. The Speakon ® is a f our-wire connector with the connections labeled as 1+, 1-, 2+ and 2-.
THE S2 OUTPUT MODULE REAR VIEW - BRIDGE MODE (19) The f ollowing wiring allows the Speak ons to be the bridge outputs with both in parallel. Such an arrange- ment per mits two 8 ohm enclosures to be connected in parallel to the CS-S amp in Bridge Mode.
Inadequate cooling due to preheated air , a reduction of air flow caused by b lockage of the amplifier's inlet/outlet por ts, or s e v erely ov erloading the amp may cause the amplifier's thermal sensing system to temporarily shut down that par ticular channel.
