8 3.0 PPP OPE RATIONAL BACK GROUND PPP is a p rotocol used for multi-plexed transport over a point-to-po int link. PPP operates on a ll full duple x media, and is a symmetric peer-to- peer proto col, which c an be broken into three ma in compone nts: 1.

The t w o cards meet inside the ra ck chassis and plug into each other by way of mating 50 pin card ed ge connec tors.
