S Do not operate a c hain saw that is dam- aged, impr operly adjus ted, or not c om- pletely and s ecur ely ass embled.
5 S Turn the engine of f and let saw cool in a non-combus tible area, not on dry leav es , str aw , paper, etc. Slow ly r emove fuel c ap and refuel unit. S Store the unit and fuel in an ar ea w here fuel vapor s c annot r each s park s or open flames from water heaters , elect ric motors or sw itches , furnac es , etc.
6 S Keep a good, fir m gr ip on the saw w ith both hands when the engine is running and don’t let go. A firm grip w ill help y ou reduc e kic kbac k and maintain contr ol of the s aw. Keep the fingers of y our lef t hand enc ir- cling and y our left thumb under the fr ont handlebar .

S As tree s tarts to fall, stop saw, put it down, and get away quic kly on y our planned re- treat path. S DO NO T cut down a part ially fallen tree with your saw.
