Upgrade procedur e for the Parrot MK6000.
1 . How to upgrade th e Parrot MK6000? Two m ethods are availab le to upgrade your MK6000 : One b y serial cable (§ 1.1), one by B luetoo th (§1.2 an d 1.3) 1.1. By Serial Cable: You will need a com puter r unning MS W indows, a serial cab le and the P arrot Flash Upd ate W izard.
- Selec t the Parrot MK 6000 in the list and c lick on Next : - T hen click on Downlo ad Latest version ..
- Click on OK when you see this warning. - First, you have to select your language . - After selecting your language, the check box « □ W ith Text-T o-Speech » m a y be availab le.
- W ait until the e nd of the do wnload (The downloaded files will be stor ed in C:P rogram FilesParrot Flash Upd ate WizardInternet F iles ). - Click on OK .
- Select Serial conn ection a nd then click on Next - Select the COM port on which you have connec ted the ser ial cable and then click Next ..
- W ait until the end of the up grade process . - Click on Finish . - You can no w disconnect your cark it from the com puter. - Your Parrot MK 6000 is no w up-to-date.
1.2. Upgrade via Blueto oth For this procedure you will need a Bluetooth dongle , a computer running W indows and the Parrot Flash Update Wizard p rogram . Follow the proce dure desc ribed bello w: - Make sure that your Bluet ooth dongle is correctly i nstalled on y our c omputer (refer to its user guide for additional inf orm ation).
- Selec t the Parrot MK 6000 in the list and c lick Next : - T hen click on Downlo ad Latest version . - Click on OK on th is warnin g..
- First you have to select your language . - After selecting your language, the check box « □ W ith Text-T o-Speech » m a y be availab le. ( if not, just skip the following step : c lick on Do wnl.
- Now you can d isconnect you com puter from the Inter net if you want or if it is n ecess ary: T he maximum distance bet ween your com puter and the kit when upgrading is about 1 0 meters . - Start the ca rkit : Red a nd green diodes should light on.
- W ait for the detection of your device: Parr ot MK60 00..
- Selec t the Parrot MK 6000 and click on its icon to s tart the ser vice disco very. - T he Bluetooth ser vices supported by the P arrot MK6000 are now listed : 3 profile s are available . Audio Sink , OBEX Object P ush and Up date (Serial port or SPP).
- Click on OK . - An outgo ing COM Port nu m ber will be provided b y the Bluetooth software duri ng the c onnection. W rite it down, it will be r equired in the Parrot Flash Updat e W izard.
- Click on Next - Select Bluetooth Virtual c onnexion. - Click on Next..
- Select the right CO M p ort, which has be en previous ly ass igned (in our ex ample it is CO M8). - Click on Next . - W ait wh ile the Parrot Flash update w izard is going th rough the dif ferent upgr ade steps.
- Wait for the au tomatic re boot of the ki t. Do n ot stop the pow er source! (this oper ation can tak es few m inutes) - Click on Finish . - Your Parrot MK600 0 is now up to date.
1.2.2 Other method (b y Blueto oth) You will need a W indows-based c omputer, a bluetooth U SB dongle (or inte grted bluetooth device ). You can use this method only if you’re us ing the Bl uetooth manager provided with Microsoft Window s XP Service Pack 2.
- Selec t the Parrot MK 6000 in the list and c lick Next : - T hen click on Downlo ad Latest version ..
- Click on OK on th is warnin g. - First you have to select your language . - After s electing your langu age, the c heck box « □ W ith T ext-T o-Speech » m ay b e a vailable.
- W ait until the e nd of the do wnload (The downloaded files will be stor ed in C:P rogram FilesParrot Flash Upd ate WizardInternet F iles ). - Click on OK .
- Select Bluetooth connect ion and click on Next . - On the followin g windo ws, click on Search devic es and wait whi le searchin g for visible de vices. - In the list selec t Parrot M K6000 . - Click on Next. - If requested enter the Blue tooth PIN cod e : « 0000 ».
- W ait wh ile the Parrot Flash update w izard is going th rough the dif ferent upgr ade steps. - Wait for the au tomatic re boot of the ki t. Do n ot stop the pow er source! (this oper ation can tak es few m inutes) - Click on Finish . - Your Parrot MK600 0 is now up to date.
