1 OneVision ACCULINK Access Controller Manager for HP OpenView Feature Number 7800-D1-999 Document Number 7800-A2-GZ50-10 January 1997 Overview The OneV ision ACCULINK Access Controller (AAC) Manager supports the ACCULINK Access Controller under HP OpenV iew .
2 Installation Information This section provides information you need to know prior to installing the AAC Manager software. Hardware Requirements The AAC Manager runs under HP OpenV iew on either an HP or Sun workstation that is connected to the AAC device.
3 Installing the Application This section describes how to install the AAC Manager software on both HP and Sun workstations. Installing on HP Systems T o install the AAC Manager on HP systems, perform the steps below . (Refer to your HP OpenV iew documentation for detailed descriptions of the HP OpenV iew commands.

5 Discovering Devices This section describes how HP OpenV iew discovers the AAC device and how you can accelerate that process. Once the AAC is assigned an IP address and is physically connected to the HP OpenV iew host, HP OpenV iew discovers it automatically .
6 Accessing the T erminal Interface The T erminal Interface provides the ability to connect directly to the AAC. The T erminal Interface provides VT100 terminal access over a telnet session.
7 T ransferring Configuration Images Hardware and software options selected via the T erminal Interface for an AAC are stored in a configuration image on the device. The configuration image can be transferred (uploaded) from the AAC device to the HP OpenV iew host and stored in a UNIX file.

9 6. Choose an existing UNIX directory and file to receive the configuration image or enter the name of a new directory and/or file, and click OK. The File Selection W indow disappears.
10 5. Click on Select . The File Selection W indow appears (see Figure 4 ). 6. Select an existing UNIX directory and configuration image file to be sent to the AAC, and click OK. NOTE Y ou must not select a configuration image file that was uploaded from another AAC.
11 T rap Support The AAC generates alarms and events in the form of SNMP traps. These traps are managed by the HP OpenV iew platform and can be viewed using the HP OpenV iew Event Browser application as described in the HP OpenV iew documentation.
