5 !5 Standby Control Terminal (STANDBY ON/STANDBY OFF/G) This terminal accepts input from an outboard device to control the standby mode. It operates as follows: STANDBY ON: Establishes the specified standby mode. STANDBY OFF: Releases standby mode (normal dis- play).
6 INST ALLA TION The installation described below should be made by qualified service personnel or system installers. ■ Mounting into the Rack for WV -CM2080 The monitor can be mounted into the rack as described below. 7 ■ Connection with the Camera Site Connect the Video Output of the camera site equipment to the VIDEO IN connectors on the rear of the monitor using coaxial cables.
8 ■ Connection between two or more color monitors and a device compat- ible with Panasonic Security Data mode In case of connecting multiple devices compatible with the Panasonic Security Data mode, connect the unit in a daisy-chain configuration as shown below.
9 SETUP PROCEDURES This monitor offers various onscreen menus for setting user preferences. In the COMMUNICATION SETUP Menu, you can set the parameters for communication between the System Controllers and the Monitors. ■ Displaying the Setup Menu To display the Setup Menu, follow the procedure shown below.
10 ● Baud Rate (BAUD RA TE) This item lets you set the transmission speed for RS-485 communication. 1. Move the cursor to the BAUD RATE parameter with the C or D button. 2. Select the desired transmission speed shown below with the - or + button. The factory default setting is 9 600 bps.
11 ■ Power Up Before operating the monitor, confirm that the cameras and peripherals are connected correctly and securely. 1. Turn on the monitor by pressing the POWER button. The Power Indicator lights in green. 2. Select the desired input to be displayed by pressing the INPUT SELECT button.
12 9. Move the cursor to the AUDIO parameter with the C or D button, then adjust the audio volume with the - or + button. - : Decreases the audio volume. + : Increases the audio volume. 10. Move the cursor to the STANDBY ON parameter with the C or D button, then select the desired mode with the - or + button.
13 ■ Audio V olume Control The audio volume can be adjusted with the - or + button in normal view. While the volume is being adjusted, the indicator displays the changed level as shown below. - : Decreases the audio volume. + : Increases audio volume.
14 OPERA TING PROCEDURES (with the System Controller) For the following procedure, the WV-CM2080, WV-CM1780 or WV-CM1480 needs to be set up first from the Setup menu. The WV-CM2080, WV-CM1780 or WV-CM1480 can be controlled with the specified System Controller.
15 APPENDIX This appendix details the elements for communication between the Monitor and the System Controller. For the communication parameter settings, refer to the SETUP PROCEDURES on page 9. ■ Communication Protocol ● Data Format The controller sends messages to operate the monitor in the format shown below.
