Befo re Use -10- ≥ When charging the overdischarged battery, the [CHARGE] lamp blinks at first, but the battery is charged nor mally. When the temperature of t he battery is too high or low, the [CHARGE] lamp blinks and the charging time becomes longer than usual.

Befo re Use -14- 2 Adjust the LCD Monitor angle according to the desired recordin g angle. ≥ The LCD Monitor can rotate a maximum of 180 o 1 from the v ertical position upwards and a maximum of 90 o 2 to the downward direction. Forcefully rotating the LCD Monitor beyond these ranges will damage the Movie Camera.

Recording Mode -23- ª To Take Cl ose-up Sh ots of Sma ll Subjects (Ma cro Clos e- up Fu nc tion ) When the zoom magnification is 1 k , the Movi e Camera can focu s on a subject that is as close as approximately 20 mm from the L ens. Sm all subjects like insects can be recorded w ith this function.
Recording Mode -24- 1 Keep pressing the [FADE] B utton (18) during the Recordi ng Pause Mode. ≥ The image fades out gradually. 2 When the im age is com pletely gone, press the Recordi ng Start/Sto p Button (42) to start recording. 3 Release the [FADE] Button (18) about 3 seconds after st arting recording.

Playback Mode -32- ª Variabl e Speed Search Function The speed of Cue Playback or Review Playback can be varied. 1 During playback, press the [ 1 ] Bu tton (17) . ≥ The [1 k! ] Indication appears. 2 Push the [W /T] Lever (37) to select a desired search speed.
Playback Mode -33- ≥ If the Movie Camera is left in the S till Playback Mode for more than 6 minutes, t he Movie Camera switches to the Stop Mode to protect the video head s from excessiv e wear and tear.
Playback Mode -34- Playback Zoom Function A part of the i mage can be enlarged up to 10 times d uring playback. 1 During playback, press the [P.B . ZOOM] Button (75) on th e Remote Con trolle r. ≥ The centre of the image is enlarged to approximately 2 times.
Playback Mode -35- ≥ The Wipe Function and Mix Function can be used only from the Remote Cont roller during playback. ≥ If the [OFF/ ON] Butto n (62) is pressed while Wipe or M ix is carried out , the effect will stop temporarily at that point. Pressing the [OFF/ON ] Button (62) again w ill bring back the effect.

(If it is left at tached to the Movie Camera, a minute amount of c urrent is cons umed even when the Movie Cam era power is off.) If the Battery is left attached to the Movie Camera for a long time, over-discharge takes place.
Others -56- Viewfinder ≥ Do not direc t the Viewfinder or Lens to the sun. Internal components may be seriously damaged. ≥ When the M ovie Camera is used with a large capacity Battery (CGR-D16S, CGP-D28S; optional) attached to it, it is not practical to look in the Viewfinder from behind the Battery.
