16 Setting up Battery Charge At the time of shipment, the batteries are not charged. To charge, place the cordless handset on the charger. Please charge the batteries for abo ut 7 hours before initial use. During charging, the charge LED w ill light as shown below.
17 Preparati on Setting up Replacing the Batteries If the icon flashes after a few telephone calls even when the cordless handset batteries have been fully charged, both batteries mus t be replaced. • Charge new batt eries for approximately 7 hours bef ore initial use.

20 Setting up Setting the Date and Time After a mains power failure, the clock needs to be set. Ensure that the icon is not flashing. After the date and time are set, the base uni t display also shows the d ate and time. This feature can be operated with the cordless hand set only.

25 Telephone Syst em Using t he Teleph one Key Lock You can lock the cordless handset dialling buttons. While locked, the buttons cannot be used and therefore calls cannot be made. Incoming call s can be answered while the key lock is ON. When the k ey lock is ON, the menu icon changes to .
26 Using t he Telephon e Redi alli ng The last 10 numbers dialled on the cordless handset and the base unit are automatically stored in each redial list separately. Dialling with the Redial List • If there are no items stored in the redial list when is pr essed, the handset display shows “ Memo ry E mpty ”.

28 Using t he Telephon e Dialling Pause (for PB X li ne/l ong distance service users) A di alling pause can be entered when a pause during the dialling of a phone number is necessary w hen using a PBX or ac cessing a long dis tance service.
29 Telephone Syst em Using t he Teleph one Call Waiting Call Waiting is a service of your telephon e company and will operate only if you have subscribed to t his service. If you subscribe to Call Waiting, a tone will notify you when another person calls you while you are already talking on the phone.
30 Caller ID Call er ID Se rvice Caller ID is a service of your telepho ne company and w ill operate only if you have subscribed to this service. After subscribing to C aller ID, this phone will display the caller info rmation.

80 Multi-Un it User Op erations Intercom Betwee n Registered Unit s You can use your cordless handsets and base unit as a 2-way intercom. Intercom calls can be co nducted within the radio cell of the current base un it, but not wit h units in n eighbouring radio cells.

When the co rdless handsets are in Walkie-Talkie mode, external calls cannot be received. Only KX-TCA151AZ and KX-TCA154AZ with Walkie-Talkie f eature can co mmunicate w ith one another.

88 Answering System Voice Date/Time Stamp -The date and time that the incoming/memo message was recorded will be announced after playback of the message. To set the Voice Date/Time stamp, set the date and time (p. 20). Flash Memory Message Backup -The total recording capacity is a pproximately 30 minutes or 64 messages.

A pre-recorded greeting message depends on the selecting of same phone caller’s recording time.
