RQT8009 8 Getting sta rted STEP 1 Connection • Y ou need to subscribe to a cable TV service to enjoy viewing their prog ramming. • Consult your service provider regarding app ropriate cable TV bo x. The connection will allow the video cassette recorder to be used f or pla yback when this unit is turned off.

RQT8009 12 Getting sta rted STEP 3 Channel settings Set these guide channels so you c an use the VCR Plus+ system for scheduled recording. Before star ting the settings , prepare a char t showing the channels , station names, and guide channels.

(Unit: hour) When “Recording Time in EP Mode” is set to “EP (6H)” in the SETUP menu. The sound quality is better when using “EP (6H)” than when usin g “EP (8H)”.

This is conv enient when you w ant the recorded program to fit one disc perfectly or y ou are concer ned about the amount of free space on the disc.

Program the scheduled recording manually and select the channel on the cable TV bo x or satellite receiver bef ore the sch eduled recording star ts.
