10 Precautions Usage Wireless Display A void Extreme Heat and Cold Do not store or u s e the wireless display in loca- tions exposed to heat, direct sunlight, or extreme cold. Avoid moving the wire- less display between locations with large tem- perature dif ference.
11 Handling Do Not Connect a T ele- phone Line, or a Net- work Cable Other Tha n the One Specified, into the LAN Port If the LAN port is con- nected to a netw ork such as the ones listed below , a fire or electric shock may result. • Networks other than 100BASE-TX or 10BASE-T .
12 Precautions z Care should be exercised with regard to the follo wing in order to avoid the possibility of overheating, fire or damage. . Battery Pack A void Heat Do not throw the battery pack into a fire or expose it to excessive heat.
13 z Do not touch the terminal s on the battery pack. The battery pack may no longer function properly if the contact s are dirty or damaged. z Do not expose the battery pack to water , or allow it to become wet.

16 Description of Parts The tether can be att ached to the upper right or upper lef t corner of the display . It prevent s the pen (included) from falling accidentally .
17 First-time Operation Prep aration A Check and identify the supplied accessories. If you do not find the described accessories, cont act your technical support office. B Read the LIMITED USE LICENSE AGRE EMENT before breaking the seal on the wireless display’ s packaging ( Î pag e 5 8) .
18 First-time Operation C Slide the battery cover latch. D Open and remove the batter y cover . E Firmly attach the batter y pack to the connector . F Fit the battery cover into (A), and then close the battery cover . G Slide the battery cover latch. H Attach the hand strap.
19 CAUTION z Be careful not to catch the t ab when you close the battery cover . z Make sure the cover is securely atta ched. Otherwise the batter y pack may fall when you carry the wireless disp lay . z Do not touch the terminals of th e battery pack and the wireless display .
20 First-time Operation Press the power button for approximately one or two seconds until the power indica tor lights. T ouch the “+” marks on the calibration screen with the stylus (included) for about one second . After the calibr a tion procedure is executed, press the center of the cursor control button (A).
21 Before making the settings for th e wireless display , check the following server set- tings. z Is the remote deskto p allowed to use? z IP address and subnet mask (i f the name server is inside the network, use th e server name instead.) z User name and p assword 6 Make the network setting.
22 First-time Operation The client used will differ depending on the server . When making connectio ns with Micros of t ® Remote Desktop Conn ection Perform the following procedur e. A Double-tap on the de sktop. B T ap [Options]. C Enter the following items.
23 When making connections with Citrix ® ICA ® Client Perform the following procedur e. A Double-ta p on the desktop, and t ap [Create New Connection]. B Enter the IP address or server name for the connection destina tion in [Server or Published Application], and t ap [Save].
24 First-time Operation Y ou can set two types of users with diff erent operating auth orities. The security setting screen can be displayed using the following pr ocedure. A Double-tap on the desktop. B Double-tap [Secur ity (Supervisor) ]. Here, we will explain the settings made by the Supervisor for the Supervisor and User .
25 NOTE NOTE z The password will not be displayed on the screen. z Y ou can use up to 40 alph anumeric char acters (exc luding s paces). z When the passwor d has been set, you need to e nter your password in [Curr ent Passw ord] . z T o disable the passwor d, leave the input field empty .
26 First-time Operation C. Skip Password Dialog Allows the User to log on without entering a p assword. When the User turns on the wirele ss display , the [Enter Password] screen is not displayed.
27 Settings made up to step 8 must be saved (backed up) using the following procedure. If the settings are not saved, they will be lo st when the wireless display is turned off. A Double-t ap on the desktop and d ouble-t ap [Flash Backup ]. Confirm that your wireless display is connected to a power outlet.
28 First-time Operation H Insert the media cont aining the files copied in step C - D , and then t ap [Browse]. I Select the file and tap . J T ap [Next]. K T ap [Update S tart]. L When the confirmation message appears, t ap [Y es]. ROM Update will start.
29 Starting Up/Shutting Down St arting Up 1 T urn on the wireless display . When you log on as a Supervisor When you log on as a User Press the power button with the USER button pressed. • If you do not do so, even w hen you set enter the Super visor Password, the wireless display will run in the User operating environment.
30 Starting Up/Shutting Down NOTE NOTE z When logged on as a User , the security setting screen can be displayed using the followin g procedure . A Double-tap on the desktop. B Double-tap [Secur ity (User)]. The following sc reen will appear . 3 Con nect to the server .
31 When termi nating the connectio n Perform the following operation. z T ap [S tart] - [Log Off] - [Log Off]. <Only when making connec tions with Microsoft ® Remote Desktop Connection> Y ou can terminate the connection using th e following operation.
32 Starting Up/Shutting Down B Press the power button with t he keyboard button and USER button ( Î page 38 ) pressed until the message “Reset t he device to factory default...” appears. z When the [Enter Password] screen ap pears, enter the Supervisor Pass- word and tap [OK].
33 LCD (Touchscreen) Using the Stylus Use the stylus provided to perform opera tions on the touchscreen. The stylus is located in the stylus holder (A), and can be held like a pen or pencil. The fo llowing operations are possible on the touchscreen . T apping Y ou c an select an ite m on the scr een by tapping it with the stylus.
34 LCD (Touchscreen) Handling the T ouchscreen z Use the provided stylus with CF-08. Do not use an implemen t other than the stylus that comes with the wireless d isplay . z Do not place any object on the surface or press down forcefully with sharp- pointed objects ( e.
35 A Double-tap on the desktop. B Double-tap [Butto ns]. C Assign [Rotate Screen] to the ke yboard button, long push, and t ap . D Double-tap [Rotate]. E Add the check mark for [0 degrees (Land scape)] and [90 degrees], and tap . F Save the above se tting.
36 Battery Power NOTE NOTE z Once the battery is fully charged, the wireless display performs recharging only when the battery level becomes less than approximately 95%, so overcharging is avoided. Y ou can check the remaining battery charge usin g any of the following methods.
37 Y ou can reduce power consumption using the following method. When using the battery , the wireless display can be used for a longer per iod of time. Power conservation ef fects can be achieved even when the AC adapto r is connected. z Double-tap on the desktop, dou- ble-t ap [Power] and tap the [Sche mes] tab .
38 Buttons Y ou can display screens for frequently use d functions and applications by pr essing the key- board button or USER button on this wireless display . T wo functions can be assigned to each butto n; one that st arts up with a short push (less than 2 seconds) and one that start s up with a long push (more than 2 seconds) .
39 Quick Menu Quick Menu is used to disp la y information about the wireless display , or to enable frequently used functio n s and applicatio ns to be launched quickly without going through Contro l Panel ( Î page 5 3). At the time of purcha se, Quick Menu can be launched w ith a short pu sh of the USER button .
40 Quick Menu Customizing buttons A Double-ta p on the desktop and then double-t ap [Quick Menu]. The [QuickMenu Application As signment] screen will appear . B In [1. Select Button], tap one button to which the function or application is to be assigned from among the four button s .
41 Software Keyboard The Software Keyb oard can be displayed on the wireless disp lay , and you can then input characters or symbols by t apping the Software Keyboard . T o show or hide the Softwar e Keyboard (input panel) (a t the time of purchase): z Press the keyboard butto n for less than 2 seconds.
42 Software Keyboard (At the time of purchase, this wireless display is set to display the Input Panel Selector Screen using the fol- lowing method.) • Press the keyboard button for more than 2 seconds. ( Î page 38) • Press the USER button for less tha n 2 seconds t o launch Quick Menu ( Î page 39) , and then t ap [Input Panel selector].
43 Option settings The following settings can be made by t apping each ta b. [Quick Settings] t ab A. Option settin gs Display the [T ranscriber: Options] screen of T ranscriber option set- tings. ( Î below) B. Change recognition mode Run hand/block letter (c haracter (alphabet/symbol/nume ric)).
44 Software Keyboard [Inking] t ab [Advanced] t ab A. Recognition Delay Slide the bar to set the time for rec- ognition of handwritten characters. B. Add space after If the check mark is added, when handwritten char acters are recog- nized and displayed on th e screen, a single space will also be displayed at the end of each character .
45 Shorthand The following functions can be assigned for handwr iting input. T ext expansion Function Run program Display words, phrases, or sentences. Display dates, names, or other information. S tart up a program . e.g.: Input “ABC” in handwriting to display “Hello.
46 Software Keyboard F T ap [Finish]. The screen will automatica lly return to step B . T o assign two or more functio ns in succession, repeat step B to F . G T ap . H T ap to close the [Tr anscriber: Options] screen. I Save the above setting.
47 Signature Capture Signature Capture opera tes on CF-08, suppo rting input of s ignatures in applications running on the connectio n destination server . At the time of purcha se, this wireless display is not pre s et to enable st artup of Signature Capture.
48 SD Memory Card About SD Memo ry Card An SD Memory Card can be used for the following purposes. z The exchange of dat a with various devices equipped with an SD Memory Card slot, and so on. z Use as a memory card (e.g., u s e as a storage unit on which file s can be written).
49 Bluetooth T o enable Bluetooth 1 Double-t ap on the desktop. 2 Double-t ap [Bluetooth Device Properties]. 3 T ap the [General] tab, a nd make the necessary settings. 4 T ap [Appl y] (E) to reflect the settings. T o make conne ctions with the serial port: Î p age 50 T o make conne ctions with the dial-up networ k: Î p age 51 A.
50 Bluetooth T o make connections with the serial port T ap the [Serial Port] t ab, and make the following procedure. A T urn on the Bluetooth device. B T ap [Select Device] (A). z If you add the check mark for [Aut o Reconnect] (C), the connection will be made automatically when Bluetooth is e nabled.
51 T o make connections with the dial-up ne twork T ap the [DialUp N etwork] tab, and make the follo wing procedur e. z The setting procedure below may vary depend ing on the Bluetooth de vice you are using. (For example, the [Enter PIN code] screen described in step F may appear multiple times or in a dif ferent order .
52 Bluetooth N Double-ta p the connection na me created in step J . O At the [Dial-Up Con nection] screen , enter the proper User Name, Passwo rd, and Domain (G) for the connectio n destination. If the phone number entered in step L does not display correctly at “Phone” (H), such as too many numbers showing, perform the follow- ing operation.
53 Control Panel In Control Panel, you can see the list of applet s that can be used on this wireless display . If you double-tap the icon (or the name), the screen will start up. Explanations for each Co ntrol Panel appl et can be disp layed using th e following procedure.
54 For Effective Use Maintenance LCD Do not use water when cleaning the panel. Ingr edients included in water may leave residue and reduce r eadability of the screen. <When cleaning dust/dirt> Avoid ru bbing of f dust/dirt with cloth since it may leave scratch on the screen.
55 Troubleshooting Follow the instructions below when a pr oblem has occur red. For a sof tware prob- lem, refer to the sof tware’s instruction man ual. If the problem persist s, contact your technical suppor t office . St arting Up Display T ouchscreen Cannot sta rt up.
56 Troubleshooting Shut Down Sound Wireless Communication Connecting Peripherals Cannot shut down. z Press the power button for four seconds or longer to shut down the wireless display . No sound. z Confirm the volume for [Qu ick Menu] or [V olume & Sounds] in Control Panel.
57 Others No response. z The screen content may not display correctly due to poor signal quality . In such case, move to a place where signal quality is good then make a connection. z Press the power button for four seconds or longe r to shut down the wireless display , and then press the power button to turn it on.
