4 T ally lamp Lights when the tally control signal is ON. • Set the MAKE/TRIGGER terminal’ s tally control in the REMO TE (e xter nal control) terminal setup menu.
5 COLOR OFF b utton/lamp When y ou press the COLOR OFF button, the button lights and the screen becomes monochrome. Only the br ightness signal is displa yed. • When the COLOR OFF b utton is pressed while lit, the light goes off and the normal screen is restored.

Bef ore mounting the monitor or connecting other equipment to the monitor , be sure to install the input cards. 1 . 11 BASIC MENU OPERA TIONS (MAIN MENU, SET -UP MENU) ABOUT MENU SCREENS This monitor f eatures a MAIN MENU (main menu screen) and a SET -UP MENU (setup menu screen). The MAIN MENU contains the functions normally used, and the SET -UP MENU contains the settings required for initial setup .

15 7 SAFETY MARKER/R-SAFETY MARKER Displa ys dotted lines to indicate the areas corresponding to 80%, 88%, or 90% of the screen size (the aspect ratio setting in “ ASPECT SELECT/R- ASPECT SELECT ” ). OFF : SAFETY MARKER does not function. 90% : Mar k ed area is 90% of the 16:9 screen ratio .

20 CONTROL LOCK 7 CONTR OL LOCK Inv alidates most of operations on the front panel (including menu screen oper ations). OFF : Enables normal operations.
21 HOW TO USE EXTERNAL CONTROL 7 ABOUT EXTERNAL CONTR OL The Multi-F or mat Monitor has tw o external control ter minals . One is the MAKE/TRIGGER terminal, which allows the monitor to be controlled by the MAKE (mak e contact) or TRG. (tr igger contact) method selected in the function setting.
22 7 HO W T O USE THE RS-232C TERMINAL Y ou can control the monitor from your PC via the RS-232C terminal. For details on oper ating the monitor from the PC , consult your dealer or service centre for details. 1.
