4 This remote control unit (RCU) is designed to be used with a conv er tible camer a (such as the A W -E860, A W-E750, A W -E650, A W-E655 or A W -E350). By connecting the RCU cable (A W -CA50A26), the power supply to the camer a as well as the camera settings, s witching operations and adjustments can be perf ormed by remote control.
5 Handle the unit carefully . Dropping the unit or subjecting it to strong impact ma y give rise to malfunctioning or accidents. Operate the unit within a temperature range of 14°F (–10°C) to 113°F (+45°C). Operation in locations below 14°F (–10°C) or abo ve 113°F (+45°C) ma y adversely aff ect the inter nal par ts.
6 P ower switch [PO WER OFF/ON] ON: At this setting, the po wer is supplied to the unit (and the power indicator LED lights). OFF: At this setting, the power is off . P ower indicator LED [PO WER] When the power s witch is set to [ON], this LED lights up green to indicate that the unit can be operated.
7 A uto white/auto black setting s witch [A WC/HOLD/ABC] A utomatic adjustment of the white balance star ts when this s witch is set to the top position while the white balance selector s witch is at the [A] or [B] position.
8 Red and blue pedestal adjustment contr ols [P AINTING PED R/B] These controls enable the b lack balance to be adjusted finely . When the blac k balance is automatically adjusted again after it has been finely adjusted, it will return to the status prior to the fine adjustment regardless of the positions of these controls.
9 Lens iris selector switc h [IRIS MANU/A UTO] The lens is set to automatic iris (ALC) if this switch is set to [A UTO] when the iris selector s witch on the lens is at [A UTO].
10 Horizontal phase adjustment contr ol [H.PHASE] This is used to adjust the horizontal phases of the gen-lock input and video output when tw o or more cameras are used at the same time.
11 Camera cable connector [CAMERA] (26-pin connector) The camera’ s cable (such as the A W-CA50A26) is connected here. Contact-type pan/tilt head control connector [P AN/TIL T CONTROL IN] (D-SUB 15-pin connector) This has the same shape as the tally/intercom input/ output connector .
12 Video output connectors [VIDEO1, VIDEO2] The video signals from the camera after cab le compensation are output from these connectors. (The same signal is output from connectors 1 and 2.) Connect the connectors to the video input connectors on the live s witcher , color monitor , VTR or other device.
13 Connections Bef ore proceeding with the connections, ensure that the pow er to all the devices is off . Be absolutely sure to use the A W-CA50A26 RCU cab le to connect the RCU to the camera.

16 Adjustment White balance adjustments A utomatic adjustment (A WC) Two sets of color temperature conditions can be stored in the memory . When using the unit under the same conditions as the ones stored in the memor y , there is no need to re-adjust the white balance.

18 Adjustment Gen-loc k adjustment When using the gen-lock function, the phases of the signals m ust be adjusted to bring the phases into alignment with the other de vices and camera. Bef ore proceeding with the adjustment, switch the camer a’ s video signals to color bar signals.
19 Menu item setting The settings of the conv er tible camer a were preset when the camera w as shipped from the manuf acturing plant. Howe ver , the menu items can be set or changed f or each mode to match the actual shooting conditions. F or details, ref er to the camera’ s operating instructions.
20 When the unit is to be mounted on a EIA 19-inch rac k, use rack mount angles (pro vided) and four mounting scre ws (M4 10) (provided). 1. T urn off the power switch of the unit. 2. Remove f our screws fixing the rubber feet and remo ve the four rubber f eet from the bottom of the unit.
