5 Installation precautions Do not install this unit by suspending it, and do not install it on its side. While factoring in the weights of the unit and the load that the unit will bear , select an installation location which is conducive to f astening the unit securely and which is lev el and without une venness .
6 Mounting (P an/tilt head) Precautions f or installation Do not install this unit by suspending it, and do not install it on its side. Using the four pan/tilt head mounting holes , f asten the unit securely with bolts which are long enough.
7 Mounting (A C adapter) Precautions f or installation Be sure to use water-proof connecting cab les. Be sure to keep A C power s witched off during installation and connection.
8 Mounting (A C adapter) Connect the cables . (Refer to the “Connections”.) Make the distance betw een the AC adapter and pan/tilt head less than the length (30 m) of the po wer cable supplied.
9 P ar ts and their functions Main unit (P an/tilt head) Main unit co ver The sunshade cov er and main unit cov er must be remov ed when the cable compensation circuit or landing characteristics are to be changed.

11 P ar ts and their functions A C adapter unit DC power unit This unit supplies a DC output of 15 V , 10 A (maximum) when an A C input of 120 V is supplied. P ower switch [PO WER ON/OFF] This s witch is used to supply AC po wer to the DC pow er unit.
12 P ar ts and their functions Supplied cable unit 24P r ound water-pr oof plug (male) Connect this to the multi connector [MUL TI] on the main unit. RJ-45 modular plug Connect this to pan/tilt head controller . It can be e xtended up to 3281 ft.
13 P ar ts and their functions <P ower cable> (VEEB0152) 7P r ound water-pr oof plug (female) Connect this to the power connector [PO WER] on the main unit. 7P r ound water-pr oof plug (male) Connect this to the DC output connector [DC 15V OUT] on the A C adapter .
14 Installation Installing the housing mount frame Attach the housing mount frame (supplied) to the rotary ar m of the main unit. Attach the housing mount frame to the rotary ar m as shown in the figure below . The screws must be installed together with the flat washers and spring washers (supplied).
15 Installation Cable compensation cir cuit settings When the pan/tilt head and controller hav e been connected, the maximum allo wable length of the connecting cab les is 3281 ft. (1000 m) f or the 10BASE-T straight cable (UTP category 5) and coaxial cable (BELDEN 8281).
16 Installation CPU cir cuit board s witch settings Set s witches SW1, SW2 and SW3 on the CPU circuit board as follo ws. SW1 (Selector switch f or landing characteristics) F or a soft landing: Set SW1 to the left position (RP501). (F actor y setting) F or an exact landing: Set SW1 to the r ight position (RP605).
17 Installation How to install the camera Loosen the bolts for opening and closing the top co ver , and open the top cov er . Loosen the top cover open/c lose bolts Open the top cover until the support ar m completely enters the groov e. Bear in mind that it will not be possible to loc k the top cov er if the arm is not completely in.
18 Installation < When the A W -E350 or A W -E650 camera is used > Use the 2 screws supplied with the camera to attach the mounting adapter (supplied with the camera) to the top panel of the camera. Attach the positioning screw (supplied) to the camera mounting spacer .
19 Installation <When the AK-HC910 camera is used> Attach the positioning 1 screw (supplied) to the camera mount . Attach the camera mount to the f an mounting par t on the top panel of the camera using the 1 scre w , flat washer and spring washer (supplied).
20 <When the AK-HC1500 camera is used> Attach the positioning 1 screw (supplied) to the camera mount . Attach the camera mount using the 2 screws , flat washers and spring washers (supplied). (The camera mount points tow ard the front or back in the opposite wa y from a conv er tible camer a.
21 Installation <When a regular lens is used> Sandwich the housing’ s suppor t rib between the camera mount and plate nut of the camera on which the camer a mount has been installed, and provisionally secure it using the camera mount scre ws.
22 Installation <When a large lens is used> A large lens can be attached to the AK-HC910 or AK-HC1500, and stowed inside the housing f or use. In a case like this , attach it by f ollowing the steps belo w . Use any of the large lenses listed belo w .
23 Check whether the “ ”-shaped par t of the lens holder attached to the bottom of the lens is inside the elongated hole of the metal brac ket inside the housing.
24 Installation How to install the housing Align the mounting rails ( ) on the bottom of the housing with the housing mount frame ( ) on the main unit, and fit the housing onto the side of the main unit.
25 Connections Concerning the connectors inside the housing The connectors shown in the figure belo w are provided inside the housing. Check the connection instructions for each of the cameras concerned, and connect them.
