- 12 - Charging the battery Important: ≥ Do not use the AC cable wit h any othe r equi pment as it is designed only for th is unit. Al so, do not us e the AC cabl e fro m othe r equip men t with this un it. ≥ It is re commen ded to charge the b attery in a t empera ture be tween 10 o C and 30 o C (50 ° F to 86 °F).
- 13 - Inserting/removing the battery Install the battery by inserting it in the direction shown in the figure. Removing the battery Make sur e that the power switch is set to OF F and th e status in dicator is turn ed off, a nd the n remove by holding o nto it taking ca re not to drop.

- 15 - Connecting to the AC outlet The uni t is in th e st andb y co ndit io n when the AC adap tor is co nnect ed. The pr imar y ci rcui t is alway s “live” as lon g as the A C adaptor is conne cted to an electrical outlet. Important: ≥ Use th e supp lied AC adaptor.
- 16 - The unit can record motion pictu res or still pictur es to an SD card. Cards that you can use w ith this unit Use SD cards confor ming t o Class 4 or higher of the SD Speed Class Ra ting * for mo tion pictur e rec ording . * SD Speed Class Ratin g is the speed standard r egardin g contin uous wr iting.
- 17 - Inserting/removing an SD c ard Caut ion: Check that th e acc ess lamp has go ne of f. 1 Open the SD card slot cover and insert (remove) the SD card into (from) the card slot B . ≥ One SD car d can be i nserted into each of t he card slo t 1 and th e card slot 2.
- 18 - Set the power switch to ON wh ile pressing the l ock release bu tton B to turn on the uni t. A The status indica tor lights on. ≥ T o turn on th e unit aga in after th e [ECONOMY ( BA T T)] or [ECO NOMY (AC)] is activated , set the power switch to OFF o nce, and th en to ON again.

- 36 - ∫ About the zoo m spee d ≥ The zoom sp eed will vary depending o n how far the zoom lever is presse d or how fast th e zoom ring is rotate d. ≥ Zoom speed of the sub zoom le ver will vary dependin g on the settin g of [SUB ZOOM]. ( l 99 ) ≥ The zoom speed does not vary whe n operati ng with the wire less remote contro l.
- 37 - Use the image stabilizer to reduce the effects of shak e during recording. This unit is equipped with Hybrid Optical Image S tabilizer . Hybrid Optical Image S tabilizer is a hybrid of optical and electric al image stabilizer .
- 38 - Perfor m focus adju stments us ing the focus rin g. If auto f ocusing is difficult d ue to th e cond itions, then use Manua l Focus. ≥ Switch to Man ual Mode. ( l 33 ) 1 Press the FOCUS A/M/ ¶ b utton to sw itch to Manual Focu s. ≥ It will switch to MF from AF.

Insert a memor y card containing video shot in A VCHD mode using the camera into a BD recorder manufactured by Pan asonic to save the co ntents in a Blu-ray Disc, DVD, or HDD.
