6 Launching a Data Connection T o launch a data connect ion from your device: 1. Press Applications and select We b . 2. Y ou may see a dialog r equesting permission to connect to the In ternet (see “Net Guard” on page 7). S elec t Ye s to proceed.
Getting Star t ed 7 Net Guard When you first connect to the W eb, the Net Guard appears and ask s you t o confirm that y ou want to connect. This feature he lps you a voi d accidental c onnections. Y ou can disable the Net Guard i n the future by selecting Nev er ask me again when the Net Guard is displayed.
8 Data C onnection Status and Indicators Y our device’ s display lets yo u know the curren t status of y our data connection thr ough indicators whic h are displa yed a t the top of the scr een. T o sign out of instant messaging: 䊳 Fr om any IM screen, pr ess Menu , se lect Actions , and then select Sign out to sign out of the current c ommunity or Sign out all to sign out of all active sessions.
