USB 3.0 connector (20-1 pin USB3_34) This connector is for the additional USB 3.0 ports, and complies with the USB 3.0 specicaton that supports up to 5.0 Gbps connection speed. If the USB 3.0 front panel cable is available from your system chassis, with this USB 3.

Y ou can connect the front panel USB cable to the ASUS Q-Connector (USB, blue) rst, and then install the Q-Connector (USB) to the USB connector onboard if your chassis supports front panel USB ports.

Connect the S/PDIF Out module cable to this connector , then install the module to a slot opening at the back of the system chassis.

Front panel audio connector (10-1 pin AAFP) This connector is for a chassis-mounted front panel audio I/O module that supports either HD Audio or legacy AC`97 audio standard. Connect one end of the front panel audio I/O module cable to this connector .

ASUS M5A99X EVO R2.0 3-1 Chapter 3 BIOS setup 3 3.1 Knowing BIOS The new ASUS UEFI BIOS is a Unied Extensible Interface that complies with UEFI architecture, offering a user-friendly interface that goes beyond the traditional keyboard- only BIOS controls to enable a more exible and convenient mouse input.
3-2 Chapter 3: BIOS setup Chapter 3 3.2 BIOS setup program Use the BIOS Setup to update the BIOS or congure its parameters. The BIOS screen include navigation keys and brief onscreen help to guide you in using the BIOS Setup program.
ASUS M5A99X EVO R2.0 3-3 Chapter 3 3.2.1 EZ Mode By default, the EZ Mode screen appears when you enter the BIOS setup program. The EZ Mode provides you an overview of the basic system information, and allows you to select the display language, system performance mode and boot device priority .
3-4 Chapter 3: BIOS setup Chapter 3 3.2.2 Advanced Mode The Advanced Mode provides advanced options for experienced end-users to congure the BIOS settings. The gure below shows an example of the Advanced Mode. Refer to the following sections for the detailed congurations.

The other items (Ai T weaker, Advanced, Monitor , Boot, T ool, and Exit) on the menu bar have their respective menu items.
3-6 Chapter 3: BIOS setup Chapter 3 3.3 Main menu The Main menu screen appears when you enter the Advanced Mode of the BIOS Setup program. The Main menu provides you an overview of the basic system information, and allows you to set the system date, time, language, and security settings.

T o clear the user password, follow the same steps as in changing a user password, but press <Enter> when prompted to create/conrm the password.
