4 17 FEA TURES OF YOUR HCCA COMPONENTS Molded woofer basket - The back bone of any good woofer is it’ s basket. It provides the proper alignment and support structure for the magnet while the very thin braces guarantee a minimum of early reflections of f the basket that would be ordinarily transmitted as sonic colorations through the cone.

Bi-wire connections to the cr ossover network When using a standard two channel amplifier , the HCCA components can be bi-wir ed. In this case there ar e two runs of wire from each of the positive and negative outputs of the amplifier for both the left and right channels.
8 13 T e rmination The woofer uses .187 spade lugs for electrical connections. Use standard .187 or .205 female quick disconnects to attach wires to the woofer . The tweeter is terminated with bare wir e. Use insulated butt connectors, bullet connectors, or quick disconnects to extend the tweeter wires to the cr ossover location.
9 12 CROSSOVER INST ALLA TION Connecting the system T rim the speaker wire as needed. Strip no more than 1/4" (6mm) of the insulation fr om the ends. T wist the exposed strands thoroughly to prevent any loose strands fr om causing a short circuit.
